Welcome to your Forgiveness to Freedom meditation.

I'm your guide,

Terry Cole.

Please start by finding a quiet place where you can spend a little time undisturbed.

Turn off your phone,

Close the door,

And if you have a candle,

You can light it now or put some relaxing essential lavender oil on your hands and take a nice deep breath.

Sit or lie down now in a comfortable position with your eyes gently closed.

And let's begin by taking three deep,

Releasing breaths.

Let's do that two more times and with every exhalation,

Feel yourself sinking deeper and deeper into relaxation.

Visualize a beautiful amethyst light coming in through the top of your head,

Moving down your face,

Into your shoulders,

Relaxing your muscles as it's moving down to your arms,

Into your hands.

Feel that beautiful light moving to the back of your body,

Relaxing your upper back and your middle back,

Moving to your lower back and your buttocks.

Now feel that light flowing into your torso and your pelvis,

Moving over your hips and down your thighs,

To your knees,

Your calves,

All the way down to your feet.

Your entire body now is bathed in this amethyst,

Relaxing light,

And you feel deeply serene and peaceful.

Now you are ready for your forgiveness exercise.

A very wise person once said,

Not forgiving someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

I find the most common misconception about forgiveness is that two people are required for it to work,

Which is not so.

You can forgive people who are no longer here or with whom you no longer have contact.

Forgiving is all about you.

Holding anger or releasing it occurs in your mind.

How do you want to feel?

What do you want taking up precious space in your brain and your body?

It's really your choice.

Forgiveness is not condoning the actions of the other party.

It is not rolling over,

Giving up,

Or losing anything.

Forgiveness will free you from the prison that resentment creates.

Not forgiving constricts the flow of your abundance.

So now I'll ask you to think of any grievances that you're holding onto,

People you have not forgiven in your life.

Take the next minute or so to make a mentalist.

I want you to visualize each of those people that you have not forgiven.

See them in front of you,

Connected to you by a white cord of negative energy.

Now take a deep breath and on the exhalation,

See that energy cord being cut and gently releasing you.

All negative constriction and feelings about this situation in people effortlessly leaving your body with your breath.

With every exhalation,

You feel more and more expanded and less and less connected to the negative stories of the past.

By releasing these negative feelings of anger and resentment,

You are making more room for joy and abundance.

You will now have more energy and space for positive relationships and experiences,

Expanding your life's potential.

Now I will slowly count back from 10 to 1.

And when I get to 1,

You are going to feel lighter and happier than before.

This feeling of liberation is going to stay with you.

Slowly bring your awareness back to your body.

Stretch your hands and rock your feet a little and give yourself a nice,

Big stretch.

Gandhi said,

The weak can never forgive.

Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

So congratulations for being one of the strong today.

And as always,

Take care of you.

That was lovely and lightening and gave me room to think, breathe, and let go. I definitely feel lighter! Thank you!
