Venus is one of the four terrestrial planets in the Solar System. It is sometimes referred to as Earth's “sister planet” because of the relative similarities in their diameters, masses, proximities to the Sun, and compositions. In other respects, it is radically different from the Earth: its magnetic field is much weaker and it has a much denser atmosphere.
