Earthly Music

One after another, the intervals, like an unwinding ball, came to build on earth what existed in the heavens. Taking shape in earthly music, they became legitimate no longer as phantoms but as sounding pillars of the musical harmony system. And this is probably why the scales were first presented descending, starting with the top note, as evidenced by ancient Greek music for example.
