This is a grounding meditation that you can do while sitting down.
So first of all,
Find a comfortable seated position.
You are welcome to adjust yourself to find greater comfort at any time during this meditation.
Once you've found a comfortable position,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Know that whatever you're bringing with you is welcome.
Start by noticing what it's like to be alive today,
To be alive as you in this body.
Notice your breath,
What it's like in this moment.
You don't have to change it.
You can just let it be as it is,
But if you feel that it would be helpful,
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Now,
Bring your awareness to your heart,
The energetic center of your body.
You could even place a hand or two on your heart,
Then go ahead and relax your hands down again.
Start to send your awareness up,
Let it travel up through the throat,
Behind the center of the forehead,
All the way to the top of the head.
Let it travel past your crown,
Up into the cosmos.
Feel that sense of expansion.
As you bring your awareness back down,
Draw down some of that celestial energy with you.
You might see it as a golden light,
A bright white light.
You might just feel it in your body as a thick honey moving through you.
Just let it keep traveling down until it reaches the heart again.
Take a moment here and notice what it feels like as this energy fills your heart.
Now let your awareness travel down,
Starting at the heart,
Down through your torso,
Until it reaches the soles of your feet.
You might even imagine here that you are a great big tree and that your feet turn into roots.
Feel them grounding you down to the earth,
Making you feel strong and steady.
As you slowly start to bring your awareness back into the body,
Draw up this nourishing energy from the earth,
Up through the feet,
Into the legs,
Up past the hips,
Into the belly,
Into the solar plexus,
And finally into your heart.
Notice what it feels like as these two energies combine in your heart.
Earth energy,
Celestial energy.
Gently open your eyes.
