Hello and welcome to a guided meditation inviting you into a deeper connection with the beautiful plant lemon balm.

Lemon balm,

Melissa Aficionales,

Meli Honey,

She of the Bees,

This beautifully fragrant tea herb that is great for supporting you with anxiety,

Stress,

Depressive states and insomnia.

A wonderfully supportive herb for the highly strung,

Overwrought,

Overworked person.

Let's start our meditation.

First of all,

Come to a comfortable position.

Wiggle around and move for a moment and feel your body.

Allowing yourself to come into stillness.

Allow your body to relax.

Feel the muscles softening and loosening.

With every out breath,

Softening a little more.

Arriving in this moment,

Just as you are.

Allowing any kind of feeling,

Thought,

Emotion or sensation to be there,

Just how it is.

I invite you to connect with your breath.

Breathing in slowly and steadily and breathing out.

Breathing out any tension,

Any stress,

Any constriction in body,

Heart and mind.

Letting the breath flow in and out of you like the waves on the shore of your being.

Softening and relaxing.

Allowing the mind to still and centre.

Focusing on my voice,

On the images that will be awakened and the physical sensation of the chair or the floor supporting you,

Of your clothes on your body,

Of the air flowing in through your nose and out again.

You are walking in the forest on a crisp sunny spring morning and you come across a cottage garden full of flowers in bloom,

Some fruit trees and vegetables.

The garden is bathed in gentle sunshine and you notice in the centre of the beds a sweet little beehive.

Take a moment to look around and see all of the gorgeous flowers in many colours,

Blooming in a riot of beauty.

Notice the bees buzzing around collecting nectar,

So happy to be feasting on these flowers.

Feel the sunshine on your skin and the cool air awakening and refreshing you.

How do you feel?

Wandering through the garden you come across a patch of lemon balm,

Soft lime green leaves thigh height with many square stems reaching up towards the sky and some long spears of tiny creamy pink flowers.

You lie down in the patch of lemon balm and crushing some of the fine hairy dry leaves in your fingers and beneath your body you release a cloud of fresh lemon mint scent.

Breathe in this scent.

As this perfume envelops you notice the tension and stress melting out of your body and mind.

Your heart slows down,

The heat and agitation in your being cools and calms.

You breathe deeply and slowly.

Lying here on this plant in this garden,

Lying here with your eyes closed listening to the bees busily buzzing,

Feeling the cool air and the gentle sunlight on your skin,

Smelling that divine lemon floral scent,

Allow yourself to rest deeply for a while.

Mind at ease,

Body calm and tension free,

Belly soft,

Lungs open and rhythmic,

Hearts merry and bright.

Allow yourself to rest deeply here for a while.

When you sit up again you feel deeply restored,

The way you wish you felt on every waking morning,

Your mind is clear and focused,

Your body is relaxed,

Your heart is merry and bright,

Joy is present here.

Before you leave gaze again at the lemon balm,

Melissa,

Let her know just how much you have needed this sucker and the depth of your stress and exhaustion.

Thank you lemon balm for your beautiful gifts of relaxation and restoration.

Walk out of this garden,

Out of these flowers,

Away from the bees into the cool forest.

Walk away from this garden but carry the brightness,

The joy,

The relaxation in your heart and into your day.
