Namaskar Judgement.
Welcome.
Today,
We begin our discussions.
On the third spiritual trick.
Uttam arjao.
Which means simplicity,
Straightforwardness or absence of crookedness.
In simple words,
Ayurveda means harmony between our thinking,
Our speech and our actions.
What we think.
What we say and what we do should be in alignment.
It means avoiding crookedness.
Hypocrisy and deception in our intentions,
Thoughts,
Words and actions.
In other words,
Say what you mean.
And act according to what you say.
Jain texts beautifully convey this idea through simple examples.
They say A thief does not build a town.
For peaceful living with his family and friends.
A person who is crooked.
Then not really live peacefully.
Because he is always trying to hide something or deceive someone.
On the other hand,
A simple person and straightforward person by nature is generally filled with peace.
There is another interesting example.
A cat may close her eyes.
While drinking milk.
Perhaps thinking,
If I cannot see anyone,
Nobody can see me.
But closing her eyes does not make her invisible.
Sooner or later,
She is caught.
In the same way,
A crooked person may think that others do not know what he is doing.
But deception has a way of being discovered.
And eventually the person has to face its consequences.
There is also a popular story about the heron.
A blue crane and the fish.
The herons stand perfectly still.
Sometimes on one leg with eyes apparently closed.
It looks peaceful and harmless.
But it is actually waiting for a fish to come close enough so that it can catch it.
This is a beautiful example of the opposite of Arzo.
The appearance is peaceful.
But the intention is deceptive.
We can see similar examples in our everyday life.
For example,
A shopkeeper may use non-standard weights and measures to cheat customers.
Plagiarism is another example.
A person may present somebody else's work as his or her own.
The outsider may look acceptable.
But the intention is not straightforward.
Let us understand this idea of ARGO through four possible outcomes.
Of our intentions and actions.
Fast.
Our intention is good and our external action is also good.
This generally leads to happiness and harmony and is therefore welcome.
Saturn.
Our intention is good.
But external actions appear bad.
Here the debate may be the result may be debatable.
Only we know our real intentions.
Other majors.
According to our actions and what they can see.
Whether this is the community,
The people affected or even a court of law.
Our intention is bad.
But where external extensions appear good.
This is deception.
It may look good from the outside but we know that our real intention is different.
Absence of this is Arjo or simplicity.
Fourth,
Our intention is bad and our external extension is also bad.
This naturally leads to happiness,
Conflict.
Inauspicious karmic bondage.
So our job also asks us to look not only at our external behavior but also at what is happening inside us.
Why is straightforwardness important?
In our daily lives,
We have to interact with many people.
We interact with our teachers and gurus.
Family members,
Colleagues,
And seniors,
Customers,
Suppliers,
Government officials,
Friends,
And many others.
To achieve our legitimate goals,
We need their cooperation,
Support and trust.
And sooner or later people come to understand our nature.
If they find that we are deceptive or have bad intentions,
They will distance themselves from us.
But if they find us honest,
Simple and straightforward,
They are more likely to trust us and develop a lasting relationship with us.
So straightforwardness is not merely a religious virtue.
It is also essential for healthy relationship and a peaceful life.
Now the question comes how can we practice Arjo?
Let us look at some ordinary life situations.
In the family,
Relationships,
We should try to be honest and straightforward.
When we disagree with someone,
We should communicate without violence,
Anger or humiliating the others.
We should be open and accommodate rather than trying to boss others around.
If people are afraid of our reaction,
They may stop expressing their real opinion.
That may create an appearance of agreement,
But it does not create a healthy relationship.
So,
Let us create an atmosphere where family members feel safe to speak honestly.
Now we move to school and college.
The same principle applies to students.
Suppose you don't understand something in class.
Instead of simply saying yes,
I understand.
Please ask for clarification.
It is better to admit that we do not understand.
Than to pretend that we do.
With our friends also,
We should try to be frank and genuine.
Rather than pretending to be someone we are not in society and in dealing with government in our dealings with society and government we should avoid deception.
For example,
Tax evasion.
Or deliberately concealing important facts may appear beneficial in the short term.
But eventually such actions can create serious problems.
Straightforwardness means doing what is right.
Even when we believe that nobody is watching.
Some more everyday examples.
We all know the story of the boy who repeatedly cried wolf,
Wolf,
Even though there was no wolf.
People came to help him.
Only to discover that he was deceiving them.
Then when a real wolf appeared,
Nobody believed him.
And nobody came forward.
To help him.
Thus,
One's trust is lost.
Even the truth may not be believed.
Another example is very ordinary.
Suppose I eat something that was kept specifically for my wife or for another member of the family.
When someone asks me,
Did you eat it?
I say no.
I may think I have successfully hidden the truth.
But others may already know what happened.
The food may have disappeared.
But more importantly,
Trust has also disappeared.
We can also learn from the cunningness of the crow.
Cleverness is not the same as crookedness.
There is nothing wrong with being intelligent and clever.
When it is used honestly.
The problem begins when intelligence is used to deceive or exploit another person in professional life.
Hazard is equally important in our professional life.
A lawyer should not deliberately falsify evidence.
A doctor should not perform an unnecessary procedure simply for financial gain or because someone has offered a personal reward to him.
A shopkeeper should not sell an inferior product by giving it attractive packaging and behaving very nicely with the customer.
In all these cases,
The outcome or the outside appearance may be good.
But if the intention is dishonest,
There is no hard job.
There is no honesty.
The real test is written within us.
Ultimately,
We are the best judges of our own intentions.
The most important thing is that our intentions should be good.
Of course,
Even with good intentions,
We have to choose our actions wisely.
Good intentions alone are not enough.
We also need to choose the appropriate and non-violent way of expressing them.
Crookedness creates a great deal of pressure within us.
Once we tell one lie,
We may have to tell another lie to cover it.
Then we have to remember what we said earlier.
We have to plan how to hide our actions.
We have to justify ourselves.
All this creates unnecessary mental pressure.
But when our thoughts,
Words and actions are aligned,
Life becomes much more simpler.
We don't have to remember.
What story we told yesterday.
We can simply speak the truth.
That is why simplicity and straightforwardness bring the sense of inner freedom and peace.
Our takeaway for this simplicity,
We remember from today's discussions,
Be straightforward and honest in your thoughts,
Speech and actions.
When our intentions are good and our thoughts and words and actions are in harmony,
We experience greater peace.
When we are crooked,
We have to work hard to hide,
Defend and justify what we have done.
Karmic bondage takes place.
For continued.
Pain.
So,
Let us make life simpler.
Let our thoughts be clear.
Let our words be truthful.
Let our action be consistent.
With Bolt.
This is the science of our job.
Simplicity and straightforwardness.
Namaskar.
Jai Jinendra.
