Hi,
Sheila Massand here,
Life and business transformational coach and author of a book called Inside Out Transformation.
And today I wanted to read you an excerpt from the introduction of my book because it's a really,
Really succinct description,
Explanation of how transformation occurs from the inside out.
Kind of gives it away,
The name of the book,
Right?
And the reason is we don't have to spend years of hard work to experience transformation.
And it is accessible to every single human being because it can happen in any moment.
That is the very nature of transformation.
So I'm going to read you a brief excerpt and come back afterwards just for a brief wrap up.
So here we go.
This book is one of the many ripples caused by the realization of an ordinary man who had an extraordinary experience and chose to use a metaphor,
The three principles of universal mind,
Consciousness and thought as a pointer to what he discovered.
His name was Sidney Banks.
His simple yet profound realization transformed his own life immediately.
And as he shared what he had seen,
It subsequently changed thousands upon thousands of lives and continues to do so to this day.
So what did Sid see that was so transformational?
Well,
That's the million dollar question,
Of course.
So the answers will be revealed in various forms throughout this book via the voices of 15 of Sid's early students.
They were fortunate enough to know Sid and learn directly from him,
Enabling them to go on and share what they had seen with hundreds of thousands of clients over the years.
But you don't have to wait to read all the chapters for my answer to that,
For my answer to that question.
Simply put,
It's the truth of who we really are and how that is veiled.
Sid uncovered a description of how we function as human beings from the inside out.
Who we really are is often described or referred to as our true nature,
As love or peace or happiness,
Wisdom,
Well-being,
Innate health,
Home,
And many,
Many words that try to describe the indescribable.
Sid also used the words formless and impersonal to point to.
The veil,
As I call it,
Is often talked about as thoughts,
As thinking,
As beliefs,
As feelings,
As concepts,
As perceptions,
Emotions,
Psychology,
And so on.
Sid also used the words form and personal.
So you may be wondering how seeing and understanding this would help clients experience transformation.
Imagine a client who wants to achieve a specific goal but believes they are stuck with a particular personality trait that is holding them back.
When they insightfully realize that the personality trait is an illusory concept,
The veil,
And their default is well-being,
Who they really are,
Their shoulders drop,
They breathe easier,
And their eyes light up.
They understand that they don't need to keep searching for the magic bullet that will free them of the personality trait.
The veil has been recognized for what it is.
They're not broken and they don't need fixing.
Suddenly a whole new world of possibility and potential has opened up for them and nothing on the outside has changed.
That's transformation from the inside out.
Notice I use the word insightfully.
It's a really important point.
Something that Sid realized that very few enlightened teachers talk about is that the capacity for insight is built into every single human being.
Insight doesn't come to us through information gathering or using the intellect and trying to work something out.
It's a sight from within as Sid often described it.
Not something you find in the outside world.
It's literally a fresh new thought.
A light bulb moment as many people describe it.
Sometimes it's an inkling of something you know is shifting and can be difficult to put into words too.
It can happen at any moment because that's his nature which is really good news for humanity.
Time literally has no bearing on transformation.
Sid's own experience is a powerful example of this fact.
His life was literally transformed in moments.
So much so he turned to his wife and he said,
I'm home.
I'm free.
I've made it.
I've conquered the world.
This means to say that you and I will be traveling all over the world.
We're going to change psychology and psychiatry so millions of people will be healed.
At the time Sid was a welder living in Canada.
Living what would be described as a pretty normal everyday life.
So as you can imagine his wife was totally taken aback.
But it turned out to be true.
He spent the next 36 years traveling the globe and sharing the principles he had so miraculously uncovered.
So that's the end of the excerpt.
And I really,
Really hope that from hearing that that small piece that you feel the possibility and you feel the potential of transformation happening in any moment.
You know there really are no time limitations to this.
The nature of insight is that it can happen at any moment,
Any moment at all.
So I'm going to leave you with an invitation and the invitation is for you right now to look back on your life and see where you have experienced an insight that has changed your life in some way.
Now that could be something tiny or it could be something massive.
It doesn't really matter because an insight,
I just want you to see how insight has always been changing your life,
Your experience of life.
It's not something that we've got to go out and get now,
An insight,
Because we've never had one before.
Life is a series of insights and if you see the simplicity of that,
If you see the simplicity of an insight insights are happening and the recognition of it is enormous.
So it offers us this hope and understanding of how change happens and that it's possible at any given moment.
Amazing.
Thank you for listening and I hope to connect with you again very,
Very soon.
Take care.
