Gather your favorite calming scent like lavender.
Light an incense.
Sit palms facing upward.
Bring your awareness to the feeling of the breath as you soften your heart space,
Releasing tension in the stomach,
Neck,
And shoulders.
Lips slightly parted.
Soften the eyes.
Today we gather at the nation's capital.
In honor of Black lives,
We meditate on global justice for Black bodies.
Bring your attention to the feeling of the breath.
Each inhale and exhale through the nose.
You may find your thoughts creating stories.
Your brain is thinking.
It's doing its job.
However,
You don't have to follow the story right now.
Simply release the thought and focus on the feeling of the breath.
As if the thoughts were a sheet of paper,
There's no need to crumble it to discard.
Simply release the paper from your hand and bring your awareness to the feeling of the breath as you inhale and exhale through the nose.
Release,
Release,
Release.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Bring your awareness back to your body.
Release the palms together,
Hands to heart center.
Thank you for joining me in honor of Black Lives and the global fight for justice.
Take care of yourself,
Friends.
