Smiling is so simple and yet we remain un-smiling through many of our days. Smiling is one pathway to health and serenity. Through smiling (both on the inside and the outside), we are making a shift towards that which is pleasing and full of grace. This practice helps us remember that we can smile on the inside and offer a warm hello to ourselves at any moment.

Inner smile,

Sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths.

Now settle into a normal breathing pattern and either look down softly or close your eyes.

Now I invite you to get in touch with yourself.

Get in touch with your inner self,

Your inner being,

That part of yourself that is most deeply you.

And now allow your inner being to smile.

Picture a smile that begins right inside your mouth.

Just imagine it there.

You do not need to smile to anyone on the outside.

See the inner smile widen to reach each ear on the inside and to fill your whole head.

Experience a secret gladness through your inner smile.

See the inner smile behind your eyes.

Now take that inner smile down your throat to your shoulders.

Sit there with the inner smile and be glad for all that is in your life.

Take your inner smile down to your torso,

To your hips.

All the while sensing the goodness that smile has for your life in spite of all the challenges.

Continue the journey of your inner smile.

Going down your legs and filling your feet.

Direct your inner smile to your whole body and to your whole life.

Your inner smile is like a comforting hand,

A warm blanket,

A long lost friend,

A blessing.

Receive the blessing.

Allow your entire being,

Every cell in your body,

To receive the positive life-giving energy of this blessing,

Which flows from a simple inner smile.

Very nice...I have been one to smile easily for it has been said that I always have a smile on my face! I feel so giving when I smile for it is so easy to give away and the benefits are great! Thank you!
