Welcome,
I'm so glad you're here today.
If you've ever experienced a three-part breath before,
Perhaps in a yoga class,
Which is where I was first introduced to this,
Or perhaps you were introduced somewhere else,
It doesn't matter.
I'm going to invite you to approach our practice today with an open mind and an open heart,
A sense of curiosity.
This is my version of a three-part breath,
And it's probably going to be a little different than what you were exposed to.
But it doesn't matter,
It's all about finding what works best for you.
So I'm going to invite you to find a comfortable position.
It could be sitting or laying down,
Whatever's most comfortable for you.
And if it's comfortable,
Go ahead and close your eyes.
And if your mind's still a bit busy,
Just let them come to a soft gaze.
And we're going to use the power of your beautiful imagination.
So I invite you to imagine that at the base of your feet,
There's a beautiful pool of healing energy.
And notice,
Does it have a color?
It may,
It may not.
Either way is fine.
Simply notice that beautiful pool of healing energy at the base of your feet.
And not yet,
But in a moment,
I'll invite you to take sips of that energy up through your body in three parts.
So it's really important that with that first breath,
You don't take a big,
Full breath,
Because you want to leave room for the other breaths.
So again,
Focusing on that beautiful pool of healing energy at the base of your feet.
Imagine you could take a sip of that breath,
Just breathe it in up to your knees and pause.
Take another third of a breath up to your belly and pause.
And now take that final third of a breath all the way up to the crown of your head.
Hold it for a moment.
And then a nice big open mouth exhale to release.
Letting go of anything that no longer serves you and pause for just a moment and notice perhaps a little more calmness,
A little loosening of knots of tension in your neck and shoulders.
And we'll do that a few more times.
Imagining that beautiful pool of healing light at the base of your feet and taking a sip of that breath,
That beautiful energy up to your knees and pause.
That's right.
Another sip of that energy,
A third of a breath up to your belly and pause.
Just final third of a breath up to the top of your head.
Hold it for just a moment and exhale,
Really letting go.
And just taking a moment to allow that all to settle in.
And notice how good this feels.
Such a simple breath technique with such profound effects.
And let's do that together one more time,
Focusing on that energy at the base of your feet,
Breathing it up to your knees,
Pause,
Another third of a breath up to your belly and pause.
That final third of a breath up to the top of your head,
Hold it for a moment and again a big open mouth exhale,
Letting it all go.
And like all of the techniques that I share,
The more you do this,
The more benefits you will get from it.
Benefits become habits only through repetition.
So doing this one time feels great and the more you do it,
The greater the benefits.
So I invite you to come back and listen to this recording again and again and to practice this on your own as well.
Take a moment and simply imagine if you were to practice this at least once every day,
Just for the next seven days.
Can you imagine feeling more calm,
More balanced,
Able to navigate stress and anxiety better,
More easily,
More gently?
Just the power of repetition using this simple three-part breath over and over again can help you feel calm.
Thank you for your practice today.
