Sound Bath Sessions 326: Vivienne Cheah
Viv and I set up under the cover of darkness and silence. To provide some light to the area, she set up a string of lights and a LED spotlight behind her. Her husband was busy lighting ripped pieces of paper egg cartons on fire and placing them around us to ward away the mosquitos. The swirling smoke created shadow shapes in the beams of light. This, with the taps of raindrops on the leaves above us, created a hazy, mystical dreamscape atmosphere- a perfect setting for a dawn sound bath. The sun just started to light up the sky now, though we were still in the shadows under a blue sky. The city was quiet and Viv played a Wonky instrument which I love. The first eagles could be heard calling in the canopy above us until all the wildlife announce their presence over Viv's crystal bowl session. Passing airplanes and traffic hum past as more prayers emerge from the distance. The city was awake.
