Carolyn started her sound healing adventure during Covid and over the past few years has amassed a collection of instruments: monochord, drums, flutes, bowls, and her favorite, gongs. She sometimes holds sessions in her beautiful open-air house. Natural, textured materials, and earthy colors make the space immediately comforting. The fan can be heard in the tracks to cool you off. See if you can hear the subtle wind chimes outside her window in the recordings. The second session is Carolyn's gong masterpiece. Using all her gongs, she creeps between each one, filling the air with bold washes, tiny whispers, and squeaks. She slowly transitions to metal bowls in the middle, their playful, uplifting sounds a brief respite from the surrounding dramas of the gong. She returns to the gongs and finishes with a dramatic sequence of muting a gong with a gloved hand before sinking to the depths of silence. A wonderful journey full of energy and depth.
