Sound Bath Sessions 319: Alfonso Sum, Olivia Feng
After 2 years, I finally had the opportunity to record another session with Alfonso and Olivia. They have since moved into a new flat down the road from their old place in the Lam Tsuen area of Hong Kong, which is not the Hong Kong that people are used to. Life is slower there, quiet and peaceful. This session was just as minimal as before and when paired with the nature and local life outside their window, grounds you to a time and place in their life- encouraging the listener to be more present within their space rather than send them under. Each recording is presented as a part of a whole, with no apparent beginning or end, just a continuation. Olivia played the electric piano with no melody, just an exploration the sounds across the piano. Alfonso played his two metal bowls, the lowest one being a creamy drone. The insects and the grass blowing in the wind completed the picture.
