Sound Bath Sessions 296: Eileen Wong
Eileen's intention for the first track was to create a journey and create new environments with sound. She begins with a delicate touch on the crystal bowls before transitioning to the gong. She played her gong like a shamanic drum, with a constant, uniform tempo and rhythm structure while the gong was free to create its own voices. Slowing down the tempo, she moved on to the ocean drum, and then to the tuning forks. It felt almost as if the scale was getting smaller with every instrument: the ethereal crystal bowls in the cosmos, the gong (earth), the ocean, then the intimate pings of the tuning forks. 'The Powers Of Ten' (Eames) in a sound bath.
