Sound Bath Sessions 195: Aoi, Chie, & Kaori

After Sayuri's recording in the morning, I ate some lunch and met Aoi @, Chie @, and Kaori @ at their studio in the Nakameguro area. It was a small space near the river that they exclusively used for their sound healing sessions. They are friends and often work together for sound healing sessions.

When I walked into the room, I knew this was going to be an interesting session. If Sayuri's sessions were minimalist, this was a maximalist session… times 3. All of them had a full set of singing bowls (16 bowls each) in front of them. Each set of bowls was plated with a different metal: copper, silver, and brass. It looked amazing.

Aoi was on the left, Chie was in the middle, and Kaori was on the right.

This short track was a good introduction to their style and the space. They took turns sounding phrases with their bowls, sometimes adding some notes when they felt it needed it. The sound of so many bowls ringing at once was so uplifting. It's a wonderful short piece.
