Sound Bath Sessions 162: Noel Tuan & Fiona Teo

After a quick lunch, I ventured to the Tiong Bahru area to record Noel and Fiona in their apartment where they regularly hold sessions. Their large living room showcases their instruments and the many things they offer during their sessions such as cacao and teas. They both have had training from gong masters around the world and have visited gong makers in Germany. Fiona is an Innerdance disciple and regularly holds sessions in SG.

The climax of our session was when they played together. Everything was just as it needed to be. Together they accent each other’s talent and inspire new directions, carrying each other through the compositions. Noel creates a thick bed of sound while Fiona plays with the humble sounds of handmade instruments and crystal bowls. Playing off each other’s sounds they created something complete. Push, pull. Tension, Release.
