
Great Mother Meditation

Transcript
So just allowing yourself to get comfortable.
And as you do,
Just noticing all of the places that the surface under you meets the different parts of your body.
Just noticing where it meets your head and shoulders,
Your back and bottom,
Your legs and feet and your arms and hands.
And as you feel yourself supported in this way,
Just noticing where your breath is.
Noticing all the places where your breath goes as you breathe in.
And just noticing all the places where your breath goes as you breathe out.
And just beginning to notice the way in which your breath is almost like a bridge between your outer world and your inner world.
And just allowing yourself with each breath to draw a bit closer in to your inner world.
And we're taking a journey into your inner world,
Into that place within you where everything that you've ever known or felt or sensed or imagined is recorded.
And we're taking a journey to this place within you to connect with the power of the Great Mother.
You may experience the power of the Great Mother in a variety of ways.
You may hear it,
You may see it,
You may feel it,
You may even smell it,
Or you may just be aware of the power of the Great Mother.
So just allowing yourself to open to the power of the Great Mother through any of your senses.
You may experience her as an image,
A beautiful light,
A sound,
A teacher in human or plant or animal form,
Or as an angelic or mythic being,
Or some other form that has special meaning to you.
Just knowing that there's no right way and no wrong way to experience the power of the Great Mother.
But for now,
Just returning to your breath.
And as you do,
Just sensing or feeling that there's a sense of relaxation all around you.
And on your next breath,
Just allowing yourself to sense or feel that you can draw this relaxation in with your breath.
And just bringing this relaxation up into your head and face.
And just allowing all the muscles around your eyes and jaw to release any tension that you might be carrying.
Feeling your neck and throat.
And just feel that relaxation flow down through your neck and throat,
Down into your shoulders and arms and hands.
And just allowing that same relaxation to flow all the way down to the tips of your fingers.
And you may feel your fingertips tingling a bit as that relaxation reaches the tips of your fingers.
And then allowing yourself on your next breath to feel your lungs filling with this relaxation.
And just noticing how your heart feels as you allow this relaxation to spread throughout your chest.
Letting it flow down into your belly.
And just letting all of your organs of digestion and elimination and reproduction bathe in this soothing,
Relaxing energy.
And then just feeling that same relaxation flowing down through your hips and bottom,
Down through your legs,
Down to your knees,
Down to your ankles.
Just letting that same relaxation flow all the way down to your feet.
And you may feel your toes tingling a bit as that relaxation reaches the tips of your toes.
And on your next breath,
I'm wondering if you can sense or feel or imagine that this relaxation is creating a star or sun at the base of your skull.
And I'm wondering if you can sense or feel or imagine it radiating throughout your mind,
Harmonizing your brain waves.
And just noticing that as your mind relaxes even more,
That your body relaxes.
And as your body relaxes even more,
Your mind relaxes.
And just noticing this connection between your mind and your body as you allow this relaxation to flow down your spine,
Vertebra by vertebra.
And just allowing yourself to feel this relaxation flow throughout your back,
Letting the muscles in your back let go of any tension they might be carrying.
And feeling this same relaxation go all the way down to the base of your spine and down through your bottom again,
The back of your legs,
Letting all the back of your body feel the same relaxation all the way down to your heels.
And as you find yourself relaxed in this way,
You may even notice or sense or feel that you're so filled with this relaxation that it's actually coming out of the pores of your skin and surrounding you in a cocoon or cloud of soothing,
Relaxing energy.
And as you find yourself relaxed in this way,
Feeling the support of this cloud or cocoon,
I'm wondering if you can sense or feel or imagine that there's a staircase here before you and the staircase leads you to that place within you where you'll make that connection with the power of the great mother.
So just allowing yourself now as I count from 10 to one to travel along the staircase,
Knowing that when I reach the number one,
That you'll be in that place where you'll make the connection with the power of the great mother.
10,
Feeling your feet on the stair,
Noticing if the stair is made of wood or stone or some other material.
Nine,
Feeling your hand on something like a guardrail and knowing that you have complete control over this process.
Eight,
Knowing that if anything should become overwhelming for any reason,
That you can simply count yourself out from one to 10 and you'll be back in the room remembering everything.
Seven,
Knowing that you can actually go quite deeply because of your desire to connect with the power of the great mother.
Six,
Knowing that you can allow all of your inner senses to open quite widely now.
Five,
Allowing your inner sense of taste,
Touch and smell,
Your inner sense of sight and hearing,
But especially that sixth sense of just knowing,
Allowing them all to open quite widely.
Four,
As you focus now all of your inner senses on a place,
Perhaps in nature,
Where you have felt comfortable and at peace.
Three,
Knowing that you can trust the impressions that you're receiving as you allow yourself to focus even more deeply on this place,
Perhaps in nature,
Where you have felt comfortable and at peace.
Two,
Knowing that you can allow your conscious mind to just rest as you focus even more intently on this place,
Perhaps in nature.
And one,
As you get to the end of the staircase,
Just allowing yourself to step out into this place,
This place perhaps in nature,
Where you have felt comfortable and at peace.
And as you step out into this place,
Just allowing yourself to take a deep breath,
Noticing the particular odor of this place and letting it bring you even deeper into connection with this place,
Noticing the quality of the light and listening for any sounds,
Noticing if there's a wind on your cheek or if the air is still.
And you may notice for the first time in a long time how much this place is a part of you and how much you're a part of this place.
And just allowing yourself to feel that connection and rest in that connection.
And even though it is so relaxing and calming to be here again,
I'm wondering if you can sense or feel or imagine that there's a path,
A very inviting path leading further into this place or around this place.
And this is a path that leads to the place where you'll have your encounter with the power of the Great Mother.
So just allowing yourself,
As I count from one to four,
To travel along this path,
Knowing that when I reach four,
You will find yourself in the presence or very close to being in the presence of the power of the Great Mother,
Which you may experience through any of your senses and experience as a light or sound or animal or teacher and plant or human form or an angel or mythic being or some other form that has meaning to you.
One,
Just finding your feet on the path,
Noticing what the path is made of,
If it's made of sand or dirt or some other material.
Two,
Knowing that you'll be able to trust the impressions that you're receiving as you draw closer to the power of the Great Mother.
Three,
Knowing that you can continue to let your conscious mind rest as you allow yourself.
Four,
To find yourself in the presence or very close to being in the presence of the power of the Great Mother.
And as you find yourself here in the presence or very close to being in the presence of the power of the Great Mother,
Just allowing yourself to know and sense and feel this power through all of your senses,
Allowing yourself to become aware of the nature of this power,
Letting yourself experience it on every level of your being and just allowing the Great Mother to show her power to you in a way that makes sense to you.
And as you feel this power and this presence,
I'd like you to ask a question.
I'd like you to ask the Great Mother,
Would you be willing to guide and protect me and those I serve?
And just allowing yourself to listen with all of your senses for this answer,
You may receive some kind of telepathic communication,
You may actually hear words,
You may find yourself just knowing the answer to this question,
Or the Great Mother may make some kind of action or create some kind of change in the environment that would tell you the answer to this question.
And just allowing yourself to know that you may receive this answer in a way that may not be entirely familiar and just allowing yourself to trust this answer,
Letting yourself feel the power of the Great Mother informing you and guiding you even here.
And just allowing yourself to know that this is a place that you can come back to at any time,
All you need to do is follow exactly the same path that you took to come here.
And knowing that more insights and more understanding will come in the days ahead as you return to this place and as you allow yourself to feel the power of the Great Mother guiding you and protecting you and those you serve.
And you may even notice some kind of physical sensation as you're here in the presence of the Great Mother and just allowing yourself to know that you might experience the same physical sensation as you go about your daily work or if you're in doing some kind of activity for fun or relaxation.
You might experience this same feeling and you'll know at that moment that the power of the Great Mother is close to you,
Guiding you and protecting you.
But for now we're just going to return to the place that you came from,
Just allowing yourself as I count from one to ten to travel back along exactly the same path that you took to come here.
One,
Just noticing that you can follow your footsteps exactly,
Going back exactly the way that you came.
Two,
So that you will have no problem returning to this place at any time when you need to gather the power of the Great Mother.
Three,
Knowing that when we reach ten that you'll be back in the place where you started remembering everything.
Four,
Just allowing yourself to notice on every level of your being the effect of the connection with the Great Mother that you're experiencing here.
Five,
And just bring this connection back with you.
Six,
Knowing that you can bring this connection into every aspect of your life and to every relationship that you have.
Seven,
Most importantly the relationship with yourself,
But also with those that you serve.
Eight,
Just allowing yourself now to feel the surface under you again,
Noticing all the places where it meets the different parts of your body.
Nine,
And you may want to stretch a bit as you allow yourself to come back more fully into the room,
And ten whenever you're ready,
Just opening your eyes and you'll be back in the room remembering everything.

Simply beautiful. I liked the pauses between each thought, and the counting which helped me with pacing. Her voice was calm and steady and I loved the end (singing bowl?) to wrap up the conclude the meditation. I use these guided meditations while πΏ showering, sometimes, tonight. I didn't get the full effect, but it sets me in the right place to repeat before bedtime. I see this easing me to my pre-sleep stage. Thank you for creating this. β‘β‘β‘ =)
