Welcome.
My name is Ryan Judd.
I'm a board-certified music therapist,
Guitarist,
Composer,
And a dad of a kid with ADHD.
So,
As parents with kids with ADHD,
I mean,
Yes,
It can be hard.
Joyous and fun and exciting and their energy and exuberance and curiosity is amazing.
And it can be exhausting.
And training.
And contest our patience.
Our abilities to take care of ourselves while taking care of them.
So,
I invite you for the next few minutes.
To just be here with the music.
There's nowhere to go,
Nowhere to be.
Just open yourself up to this music.
Giving you back some of that care,
Energy,
And attention that you give to your kids.
If you're comfortable,
You can close your eyes.
Or just have a soft gaze.
Begin by bringing awareness to your body.
Notice the points of contact.
Between you.
And whatever is supporting you.
Soften your shoulders.
Your job.
Your hands.
You anything else.
That feels tense.
Now bring awareness to your breath.
No need to change it or breathe in a certain way Just notice the inhales and exhales.
Or imagine allowing.
The music.
And your breath.
To move together.
Flow together.
Or bring your awareness to your heart.
Allow yourself to receive this music.
Feeling it bringing warmth.
Comfort to your heart.
As you continue to listen.
Now just finish.
Colors,
Sensations.
Images,
Memories come up.
You one of the beautiful things about music.
That sometimes it can speak to us in ways.
That words cannot.
So for the next couple of minutes.
Just.
.
.
Be open to receiving.
What the music has to offer you.
As the music slowly fades out.
Just bring in your attention.
Back to your body.
And slowly start to move or stretch your body.
You can open your eyes.
Whenever you're ready.
And I would just ask you.
How you feel different now.
Compared to when we began.
And what did the music offer you today?
Thank you for joining me today and I hope that this music gave you what you needed.
Thanks so much.
