Rainy Car Journey

I captured this a while ago with my binaural in-ear microphones that you wear much like earphones.

It captures the sound exactly as I hear it. Id recommend earphones / headphones to get the full effect.

This is one of those ambiences that really makes me feel calm and sleepy. I have a tendency to fall asleep on long drives when I am a passenger & I actually drifted off whilst I was recording this and I was monitoring the sound in my earphones.

Don't worry, I wasn't driving.

I love the combination of the rain, the gentle hum of the engine whirring away and the rain gently tapping on the windscreen. The rhythmic pattern of the windscreen wipers is also very hypnotic to me, I guess it's because it has a similar rhythm to a clocks tick tock sound.

I hope to get a longer one of these one day.

For me, this is nostalgic of long, dark drives when I was a child where I would just drift off on the back seat.
