Hello,

My name is Jacqueline and I am a very proud grandma.

I write guided meditations for my grandchildren and I'm happy to share them with you too.

In this meditation we will clear any worries or troubles you have using a kite.

So make yourself comfortable either sitting or lying down.

Wiggle a little and now allow your body to completely relax.

Take a deep breath in and as you slowly breathe out gently close your eyes.

Take another deep breath in and relax your shoulders as you breathe out.

And now we are ready to begin.

In your imagination you can hear the wind blowing outside.

It's a perfect time to fly a kite.

But first let's prepare.

In front of you is some paper and a pen.

The paper is magic paper and will dissolve in the wind.

Next to the paper is a long piece of string attached to a beautiful kite.

This kite is also magic.

You take a piece of paper and write upon it one of your troubles or worries.

It doesn't have to be lengthy,

Just a word or two will do.

The universe knows what you mean.

Now tie this piece of paper to the string on the kite.

Right,

Let's do that again.

In your mind take another piece of paper.

Write down something you want to clear.

Now tie the paper around the string.

This begins to create the kite tail.

And again,

Take another piece of paper.

Maybe on this one you write what keeps you awake at night.

Now tie the paper to the string.

What's next?

Take another piece of paper.

Maybe there's a thought you say about someone,

An unkind thought.

Write it on the paper.

Now tie this to the string.

And finally,

Take the last piece of paper.

This time write all the things you say to yourself which hold you back from believing in yourself.

Now tie this to the string.

You may have more things that you want to write,

But you can do them another time.

For now,

This will help.

The kite has a lovely tail now and you carry it outside.

Don't worry if you've never flown a kite before.

Remember this is a magic kite.

There is no string for you to hold.

The kite will fly on its own.

Now,

In your mind,

Hold the kite out in front of you.

And when you are ready,

Throw it into the air as high as you can.

You watch as the kite soars up into the sky.

You see the tail with all your pieces of paper flapping in the wind.

You watch as the kite soars,

Doing acrobats in the sky.

As the kite rises up,

So your worries decrease.

You feel a lightness come over you.

You feel a weight lifted from your shoulders.

Keep watching the kite as it gets higher and higher in the sky.

You begin to feel a happiness build inside of you and you feel warmth in your heart.

The kite swirls way up in the sky.

It's so far away it's barely visible.

Joy fills your being as your troubles leave you.

The feeling of calmness comforts you.

The kite has disappeared from view and the winds are calming.

Peace surrounds you and all is well.

With a happy heart and a feeling of contentment with your life,

It is time to end this meditation.

Take a breath in as you wiggle your toes and fingers.

And as you breathe out,

Gently open your eyes.

Notice how you are feeling.

I hope you feel happy and no longer concerned by any negative thoughts.

Use this positive energy as you go about your day,

Knowing that you can return to this meditation at any time.

Thank you for meditating with me.

But before you go,

I'd like to ask you a question.

Have you ever flown a real kite before?

Thank you for taking this journey with me and in the comments let me know how this meditation has helped you today.

Bye for now.
