For many of us—women and men alike—the spiritual ego likes to hold on to what feels safe and familiar. It may hold on to the structures and values of the patriarchy because they seem secure, even when they no longer serve our growth. True transformation asks us to let go of that false security and trust something deeper. But even if we resist that truth and make a mess of things, life will bring us back on track. No matter what, we cannot avoid the life we came here to live. If we don't face it, it will chase us and make us feel restless and dissatisfied, no matter how wealthy we are.
