How The Teacher Transmits Spiritual Knowledge

Part of the difficulty with teaching on the spiritual journey is really,

It seems to me we have to be loved into it to understand it.

You know,

Because otherwise it's like trying to describe an ocean to somebody who's never seen one and never put their foot in it.

So basically a teacher has to steer toward giving the student the experience of putting their toe in the ocean.

And you know,

We're loved.

This whole universe is love.

But most of us are too alienated from our true nature and it's not our fault.

This is,

You know,

All over the world.

You know,

There's a great deal of alienation at this time.

So the teacher has to be patient enough to love the student into the experience of feeling loved enough to connect up to all that is.

You know,

When we're really,

Really loved,

We experience that we're part of everything.

And when a spiritual teacher works like that,

The student can have a direct experience of their soul.

The trouble is there's so many people and to give the experience of being loved,

It takes so much time just working with one student.

And that's with a really keen student who's really,

Really devoted to the journey.

So this is what we're up against.

And it's why,

You know,

If you get an activation,

A Kundalini activation from a teacher.

Or through,

You know,

Love,

Through love,

It can happen.

Then the quality of the seeker,

The quality that infuses that person is much higher than somebody who does,

Experiences a Kundalini awakening mechanically.

It's the same principle on,

You know,

Breeders when they're buying dogs,

They look to the quality of the mother.

The quality of the mother has a big impact on the puppies.

And,

You know,

The quality of the mother has a big impact on human beings.

And the quality of the mothering of the teacher from a pure spiritual teacher has a tremendous impact.

And a really loving teacher creates really loving students just as a byproduct.

So basically,

That's why,

You know,

In the East they emphasize the guru,

The teacher so much.

Just because it's way easier to learn from a loving authentic teacher than it is from a book or just,

You know,

Doing practices on your own.

And the quality of the student is higher.

Okay,

There's so much to this spiritual journey,

You know,

In the West.

We're just waking up to the enormity of it.
