Creaturehood

This is a recording from an informal satsang held at an ashram where Premasudha is staying.

The point was to help clarify the journey and shine a light on how best to walk forward. One thing that came up was the need to embrace with our "creaturehood". We are human, not machines, and a gentle embrace of our humanity, speeds our journey. Fighting our mammalian aspects causes needless suffering and slows our progress.

This is the rub. It's the rub with non-dual work and it's the rub with the spiritual journey. It's where both, It's where the religiosity has come in over the centuries and where we actually kill people in the spirit of, For our troops. We think it's true that we kill all the heretics. I mean, You like to fire for the witches? Yeah, For the witches and we do this stuff because we're standing on kind of an intellectual island trying to figure out what is bad and good, What's true. Okay, So you won't be able to really embrace your creaturehood until you embrace the heart of the child that you were. Otherwise, You're going to be trying to discipline and control your child aspect. Well, At least you know that. That is a huge, Huge achievement to be aware of it. So, Often what people do is, Like, I know, He was in a relationship with this woman and she was off him. They were coming apart and he like waited three weeks to sleep with somebody else, Right? And he considered that, Well, His creaturehood, Right? Like, It's kind of indulgence. It's kind of like, You know, Maybe if he was really a sincere suitor and they were going off, He might have still been faithful to her in the highest good of the relationship so that when she, When they got back together again, They wouldn't have, He wouldn't have this other experience with sleeping with somebody between them. Do you understand? Okay. So, It's the point of, Like, Say in a situation like that, You register you want to sleep with somebody else, That's your creaturehood. It's my creaturehood. I want to sleep with somebody else. But maybe you don't act on it. So, You notice the creaturehood? Do you notice? Or is it just like, And then you don't act? I mean, Is it just the non-acting? Yeah, You're speaking to me from an island of intellectual. It's actually your, There's part of you that's very, Very terrified to really know that your child's heart. And so, You can feel how out of touch you are, Actually, With that child. Like, You can't remember really what was going on with them. Yeah, Yeah. Okay, There's a disconnect that you're carrying. And it's in your spiritual life, In all your relationships. The same time, Your child's self is strong in you. It's why you've left your work and gone for a year and a half travel. Exactly. Right. So, You're not wrong. And you're the eldest child. Well, The eldest child is always a little more responsible, Achievement-oriented, A little more pushing down that image. You're the eldest, So you'll be a little, It'll take a little extra effort to connect up with your child's self. But it's meant to. You're meant to be this way. It's not like a mistake or a fault or anything. It's in, When you give your gift, It will be necessary that you're the eldest. Do you understand? Like, It'll be used in the best way for your gift. Yeah, It has a meaning. It's not a mistake. It's just part of the weave. Yeah, Concentrating on your heart would be a good training for you to come into your body more. Bringing your attention to your heart center. And usually people don't want to do this because their ego doesn't want them to. And you can even say your mantra from your heart. You know, You could, When you say your mantra, You could also come to your heart area. That will help you into your body. Okay. And you can tell it's a different feeling and it feels more on the right track. This is what it feels like when you move out of the island of your intellect more closer to the truth. It feels better. You guys, It's so simple. If I told you the opposite, You just wouldn't believe me because you know, Okay, That's it. That is your inner child. Your inner child knows. It's good until you've moved more into that energy just now as we're talking. This is how seamless it can be. With all the song and dance, It's so simple. I know. And also the men, Once the men open, They're really easy to work with. Because they, Once you open, Like with women, It doesn't, Being feminine, The feminine qualities don't work in our culture. So women, We have trouble with actually doing it. When you guys open, You do it. It's to get you to open. That's the big one. Once you open, Yeah. I'm just getting this thing. One of the important things for you is to keep the focus on innocence and integrity and not use this knowledge in ways that's not the highest. It's part of your ego that would kind of like, Okay, A little, Not tricky, A little, You're used to things working for you. And so part of you would want to put the spiritual journey working for you or this level of innocent training. And it's better to just stay innocent. And you'll find if you try to use it, It will backfire. If you try to use it in an ego way, It will backfire. So that's the training life teaches us.
