Have you ever asked yourself,
What is life?
Why are we here?
What's the purpose of all this?
I know I have.
I was about 14 when I started to ask myself these existential questions.
I felt like there needs to be more to life than this.
Going to school,
Getting a job,
Getting married and having kids.
That was my idea then.
Of course,
I started searching for answers outward in different religions or philosophies.
And I didn't stop until I found something that was in accordance to my own inner values that I wasn't even aware I had.
Of course,
You never stop because you're always learning.
Always learning,
Experiencing and finding out new things about yourself.
Ultimately,
It is a journey.
I think that when we ask ourselves these questions,
We look outward for the answers because we grow up focusing on the external world,
Curious of learning about life.
But at some point,
We start feeling a sense of not belonging,
Like something's missing.
Maybe it's not because of not knowing,
But rather not experiencing,
Connecting.
Like the fact that we don't know who we are,
That we've lost the connection with nature and life itself.
We are so caught up in what society tells us about how we should be or what we should do,
What we need to have in order for our life to be good or what makes us happy,
That we have lost the true connection with ourselves.
So from time to time,
It would be healthy to sit with ourselves and answer these questions.
What are your core values?
What is truly important to you?
What brings you joy?
How do you want to live your life?
Are you living life as you want it or in accordance to your inner values?
Are you doing things you also enjoy?
How are you using your precious time?
Sometimes it's healthy to start questioning the things you hear or believed up until this point and see if you truly resonate with them and if they align to your inner values.
I think reconnecting to ourselves is one of the best things that we can do in life.
Returning to our roots,
To nature,
To the basics.
A simple life.
We are bombarded daily with external stimuli and ads with all of these ideas and standards of competing and being the best.
But we're unique.
Each and every one of us is different in their own way.
We see life through our experiences and thoughts and feelings.
We do things in a certain way,
Different from others,
And that's okay.
We have our own qualities,
Things that we're good at,
And at the same time we can be empathetic and understand how others feel because we've experienced something similar.
We all experience love,
Sorrow,
Loss,
Joy,
Happiness,
Gratefulness,
Anxiety,
Fear,
Peace because we're human and it's normal to experience all emotions or states of being.
Rather than being in competition and judging each other,
I think connecting and understanding each other is something that we all crave and need.
I think it's pointless to compare ourselves to others,
To their life,
Or to even want to have someone else's life.
We can't be the same as anyone else because we are unique.
And why would we want to anyway?
Why would you want to be anyone else but yourself?
We can discover who we are and live our life and our own experience.
And if we find something we don't like about our life,
We can always make changes.
We have the power to choose and with love,
Compassion,
And patience towards ourselves,
We can change in time.
Our habits,
Our thoughts,
Mental patterns,
And actions.
I think when you start knowing who you are,
What your values are,
And accepting yourself,
You begin to have confidence in yourself,
In your abilities.
And when you start living a life that aligns with those values with your heart,
You start feeling a sense of peace and freedom.
This doesn't mean that you won't experience life as it is with its ups and downs,
But it means you'll have less regrets because you are brave and you live a life you truly enjoy.
And ultimately,
It's about the journey and the choices we make in the time that we have because it's never too late to change.
I would love to know your thoughts on these topics and have you ever asked yourself these questions?
Have you found your answers?
What are your struggles?
Are you enjoying your time and are you doing things you love?
Are you spending life in accordance to those values?
Your entire life can change in a year.
You just gotta love yourself enough to know you deserve more,
Be brave enough to demand more,
And be disciplined enough to work for more.
