Awaken Creative!
I've been into shape making lately.
Random.
Flowers.
All kinds of figurative animals.
And that's what I'm bringing to you here today.
Get yourself set up.
You want several pages before you.
Scrap cardboard newsprint butcher paper watercolor paper canvas Whatever you can find,
Have several layered in front of you ready to go so you can.
.
.
Create on one.
Pull it away.
Create on another.
Pull it away.
Something of uh time to practice without time.
Fast moving so that you bypass that thinking brain and go straight to just that organic expression of your hand and your brush on the page.
I'm using wet material and if you want to use dry,
Go for it.
Grab crayons,
Charcoal,
Pencil.
I am going to be using just one pot of paint and a brush.
Gather your materials while I turn the camera and let's get started.
Blank canvas oh me oh my.
Let's do this.
Everyone stand or sit before your surface.
My paint is at the ready.
My page is waiting to be bedecked.
We're going to use our dominant hand today.
For me,
That's the left.
And make some shapes.
I refer to these.
In a group as Figuring It Out.
Quite literally.
Using figures.
To figure it out.
Start with grounding.
Touch your surface.
Feel your hands.
The energy in them.
Their creativity.
Latent.
Waiting.
Now your mind is going to want to grab all that.
But rather than let it settle there.
Take it into your soul.
That center core space.
For inventiveness.
For production.
Creation occurs.
This is.
.
.
This is the soul.
Of your spiritual awakening your creative generosity.
Your making.
If you need to,
If it helps.
In these exercises close your eyes.
And rather than use your mind to think up a shape.
Let this soul space speak directly to your hand,
To that brush.
And manifested onto the surface.
When you close your eyes you kind of bypass that thinking and go straight to that connection.
You're going to be moving quickly.
Maybe a 30-second,
60-second rendering of whatever's in mind,
And then quickly flip that page.
Set it aside and do the next.
I'll be working through three.
You keep going as long as you want.
I'll wave you off at the end.
I want to keep going,
But I only prepared three sheets.
If you want to keep going,
Go for it.
And then look to these later,
Spend time with them,
Tack them up on the wall perhaps.
Let them inspire you to something further.
Perhaps like for me.
If i can do this without shaking you guys everywhere they become larger renderings.
They offer opportunity for new expression.
Large and small.
It's you.
