Feels great to be here.

There's a physical sensation when a piece starts to take.
It feels like the thinning of a veil between my hand and the medium.
As I move paint across this large canvas.
I feel a sense of my own vitality transferring into the texture and the strokes.
It's not a giving up.
It's a sharing.
In a way,
This is a heavy,
Yet beautiful responsibility.
Perhaps that's why I struggle with the making of art.
I want it to be.
We are literally pouring our life force into inanimate objects,
Giving them a pulse.
This isn't just self-expression.
It's not an egotistical dive into the self.
When it's done at its best.
This is an energetic transfer.
It is necessary.
When an artist has finished a piece.
There is an emptiness.
We can sometimes feel it and call it fatigue.
But it's not quite that.
It's the evidence that our energy has found a new home.
That the transfer is complete.
That the work can carry on.
This week.
Awaken creative this 35th week of this one universal year of ignition,
Of beginnings,
Of inspiration.
Must be based in this trust.
This knowingness.
This responsibility to the transfer.
