Good morning and awaken creative.
Day two of our 40 day journey of awakening to that co-creative voice,
Hand,
Heart in you.
Life is a challenge.
I don't think anybody would argue that statement in our fast paced,
Rapidly changing world.
We can feel at odds with keeping up and staying true to our heart's desire.
Now I'm speaking as a creative,
An artist,
Somebody who paints and puts beauty into the world,
As a practice and as a career.
You might not share such a journey,
But that doesn't mean you don't have a creative spark in you,
Because we all do.
You're here,
You have breath,
And that breath comes from the divine,
That space of the initial,
The instigator,
The igniter,
Placed a spark in you that is of that same design.
Whether you take it to the office,
The storefront,
The gardens,
Or the paint pots.
We each have a divine spark that resonates with that creative awakening.
Today I question that dualism,
The pull of our world to the universe that lives in our soul.
They don't have to be at odds,
And unfortunately it's difficult to see beyond this paradox.
With a wide open stream to everything that is social media,
That is this gorgeous world wide web,
We can forget or even subjugate the beauty of that spark in us,
And unfortunately it can go dim,
Begin to smoke and die under the embers of the world.
But that's where you come in.
You get to choose.
Every day.
You get to choose.
So sit quietly.
Take a breath.
Can you recall it?
Can you feel it?
All the way back to childhood with the blue crayon in your hand,
To now with a baker's paddle,
Or a designer's pen,
Or a gardener's shovel,
Or an engineer's tools.
Go back to that beginning.
Take back in hand,
Not your childhood,
But the joy that was the flaming spark of you,
Unfettered by the layers of the world,
By that paradox I mentioned.
See it again.
And choose,
Again,
Every day.
You first.
Your divine spark first.
We've been warned from the start that it's true.
But it's very difficult to take a warning's heed without proof.
It was said in order to save a life,
We must first lose it.
This makes sense to me in our modern world.
This widely connected technological world we live in now has incredible value.
Let's keep it in its place.
It's a tool meant to help us braid our own beautiful life into the tapestry that's there for us,
Not the reverse.
Awaken creative.
