I'm going to guide you for the first seven minutes,
And then let the music become the background for your time together with your little one.
I invite you to set the intention to offer yourself.
And your younger self.
A sense of comfort.
Connection.
And safety.
As you move towards sleep.
Let's start with a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Allow a wave of relaxation to begin in your feet and slowly move its way up through your legs.
Your thighs.
Your hips.
Your abdomen?
Fingers.
Arms and chest.
Shoulders.
Duck.
Jaw muscles.
And your bro.
Any and all tension melting away.
As you continue to breathe.
Relax.
Now call forward the loving,
Caring,
Nurturing adult in you.
The part of you that has survived,
Learned,
Grown,
Cared for others,
And is capable of a new level of caring for yourself.
And set the intention to connect with your inner child.
To simply be with her in whatever capacity she needs you to be.
Now imagine yourself stepping into an elevator.
Or following a gentle path.
You begin to slowly move down.
Down.
Into your heart space.
And when you arrive.
.
.
You find yourself in the place where your little one lives.
You may see her.
You may sense her.
You may remember her.
Or you may simply know that she's there.
Have a seat.
Invite her to join you if she wants to.
It's her choice.
She doesn't have to come close.
She doesn't have to speak.
Was most valuable for her is your presence.
What's most valuable for you is what you learn from her.
If words feel right,
You might begin by asking questions like.
.
.
How are you?
What are you feeling?
Was there anything that happened today that you want to talk about?
What do you need from me before we sleep tonight?
And then,
Listen.
If it feels comforting.
You can invite her to sit in your lap.
So you could hold her.
You might take an extra pillow and hold it gently against your chest.
After you've heard from her,
You might reassure her by saying,
You are perfect just the way you are.
And I will tell you that every day for the rest of our life.
I will do everything I can to care for you and protect you every day.
For the rest of our life.
I love you.
I will be here for you.
And I will check in with you.
Every day.
For the rest of our life.
Here with me in this moment,
You can rest.
Is there anything else you want to tell me before we sleep?
Is there anything else you need from me?
Before we sleep tonight.
As I step back now and leave you two together,
I want you to know that you've already done the important work of showing up.
You don't have to fix anything.
You don't have to make anything happen.
And you can't make a mistake.
You
