Heavenly Father,
As the day draws to a close and the night unfolds its comforting blanket over us,
We come before you in quiet reverence,
Seeking your divine protection.
The world around us grows still,
The noises of the day fading into the soft hum of the night.
In this sacred stillness,
We find the perfect moment to connect with you,
To surrender our hearts and to place our trust in your eternal care.
O Lord,
We are grateful for the day that has passed,
For every moment you've granted us the joyful and the challenging.
We recognize your hand in all things,
Knowing that even in our struggles,
You are shaping us,
Guiding us and molding us into the people you have called us to be.
As we prepare to rest,
We bring before you every worry,
Every fear and every burden that weighs upon our hearts.
Father,
Tonight we ask for your protection,
Not just from the dangers of the physical world,
But also from the unseen forces that seek to disturb our peace and steal our joy.
Shield us,
Lord,
From the darkness that sometimes creeps into our minds,
The doubts that unsettle our spirits.
Surround our homes with your angels,
That they may stand guard,
Keeping every evil thing far from us.
As we lie down to sleep,
Remind us that you are the keeper of our souls,
You who never slumbers nor sleeps.
You know our thoughts,
Our hopes,
Our dreams.
You know what lies hidden deep within our hearts,
Those things we are too afraid to speak aloud.
And yet you love us fully,
Completely,
Without reservation.
Help us,
Lord,
To let go of the day's troubles,
The mistakes we made,
The words we wish we hadn't spoken,
The opportunities we missed.
Help us to place them all into your hands.
We trust that you can bring good out of even our most difficult moments,
For you are a God of redemption and grace.
In your infinite wisdom,
You weave all things together for our good,
Even when we cannot see how.
Father,
As we reflect on the day,
We are reminded of your many promises to us.
You have promised to be our refuge and our strength,
An ever-present help in times of trouble.
You have promised that no weapon formed against us shall prosper,
And that all who take refuge in you shall be safe.
We cling to these promises tonight,
Trusting in your unfailing love.
And Lord,
We ask that you would protect not only our bodies,
But also our minds and our hearts.
In this quiet hour,
We lay down every anxious thought at your feet.
We surrender every worry about tomorrow,
Every fear of the unknown,
And every lingering regret.
We know that you hold our futures in your hands,
And that your plans for us are good.
Teach us to trust in your timing,
To rest in your peace,
And to walk in your ways.
As we close our eyes,
Let your peace wash over us like a gentle wave,
Carrying away all that is not of you.

Fill us with your Holy Spirit,

Ready to do your will.
Prepare us,
Lord,
For whatever the new day will bring,
And give us the grace to face it with courage,
Faith,
And love.
We trust in your protection,
Knowing that you are our Good Shepherd who watches over us with tender care.
You know our needs before we even ask,
And you are faithful to provide.
And so,
We release all our fears,
All our anxieties,
All our worries.
Lord,
As we drift into sleep,
We ask that you would speak to us in our dreams.
Give us visions of your glory,
Reminders of your promises.
Let our dreams be filled with your presence,
That even in our sleep,
We may be drawn closer to you.
And when we awake,
May we do so with hearts full of gratitude,
Ready to serve you with all that we are.
Finally,
Father,
We thank you for the gift of this day.
Whatever it has brought,
We know that it has been a gift from you.
We thank you for the lessons learned,
The joys experienced,
And even the challenges faced.
We thank you for your constant presence,
Your unwavering love,
And your endless grace.
And as we sleep,
We do so in the full assurance that you are with us now and always.
As you continue to listen,
Allow your breathing to slow.
With each exhale,
Release the tensions of the day.
Let your body relax,
Starting with your toes and working slowly upward until even the muscles in your face and scalp are at ease.
Your heart rate slows,
Your mind quiets.
Let the words of the prayer continue to resonate in your heart.

You are safe,
