Welcome,
Artist.
Welcome home to your resting self.
This is a rest practice just for you.
A space to land.
To lay down.
To ground.
To put your tools and crafts down.
To restore to do absolutely nothing.
Nothing is required of you in this practice,
Not even your attention.
You can simply be held by the sound of my voice.
For a little while,
You are invited to just be.
Welcome back to your body.
Please make sure this space is just as you need it to be.
There's no pride in discomfort.
Take your time to arrange your unique rest nest,
Whether on your bed,
On the floor with lots of pillows and cushions,
Or on whatever other quiet spot on the earth you can find right now.
Make sure to feel nice,
Warm and comfortable.
As much as your body asks today.
You may dim the lights and regulate the volume of this recording to suit yourself best.
There's no need to rush.
Be here now.
Be mindful of your movements as you set your space.
Let your breath wash through every gesture you make.
Once you feel nice and cozy.
Allow a big,
Full exhalation to come out of your mouth.
If your body limbs ask for some movement,
Adjustments,
Some stretches and elongations,
Maybe some dipions,
Allow what's there to pass across you.
Welcome it.
Be with it.
You are entering another state yet.
Feel the weight of your body on the ground.
Let your body,
Your flesh.
Your bones organs become so,
So heavy.
Let your breath just be as it is.
Light or deep emotions might be present somewhere in your body.
Everything is welcome to flow at the slow pace of your practice.
Let yourself sink underneath it.
The space between your eyes.
Can melt.
Your body energy can settle.
And so your temperature.
Thoughts,
Worries,
Questions might still be rushing in your mind despite the tiredness.
Let them be.
No need to get rid of them.
Just allow yourself to sink underneath the chatting mind.
Think deeper and deeper and deeper,
Dear one Your skin feels the textures and the air around you.
Your ears received the vibrations and sounds of the space.
And here you are,
At the very center of this nest,
Pulsating like a baby in a warm womb,
Protected,
Nurtured by darkness.
Your heart can fill with a gentle invitation.
How might it be to be safe,
So safe to just be a resting self?
And let the creation process become wider than you are.
How might it be to be free of your mind?
Free of what's known of your beliefs.
Free of control.
Let the creation process become wider than you are.
Be carried by it.
Rest in it.
Let the love be bigger than you are.
So rest in creation.
Rest in Creation.
Rest in creation.
Allow your heart to be held and to be soft your chest,
The right side of your chest.
The left side.
The space between your ribs.
Let it be soft.
Your diaphragm,
Held and soft,
So soft.
The front of it,
The back of it.
Your belly,
So soft,
So free to get wider and softer.
The right side of your belly.
The left side of your belly.
The belly button.
Lower belly.
Your womb space or hara space just above your pubic bone.
So soft,
So held by creation herself.
Let the throat be held and soft,
Cleared by silence.
The whole of your pelvis,
Your sexual organs so held,
So soft.
Your chin,
Jaw and mouth so held and soft.
Your right hip and groin.
Your left hip and groin.
Your tongue,
Held and soft.
Your neck and shoulders so soft and held.
Your right shoulder,
Your left shoulder.
The front of your thighs,
The back of your thighs,
So soft,
So held.
Your nose and cheeks.
Right nostril.
Left nostril.
Right cheek.
Left cheek.
So soft.
So held.
Upper arms,
Right and left,
Knees,
Front and back,
Soft and held.
The eyes,
Left and right,
Right and left,
So soft.
Temples,
Left temple,
Right temple.
Forehead clear and still as a lake.
Elbows so soft.
Shins and cows,
Soft and held,
The space between the eyes,
Soft and cleared by stillness.
Forearms,
Left and right,
So soft.
Wrists,
Right and left,
Nice and soft.
Ankles,
Left and right,
Nice and soft.
Ears,
Right ear,
Left ear,
So still,
So held,
So soft.
Palms of your hands.
Right hand.
Left hand.
Soft and nice.
Feet up and down,
Right and left,
Nice and held.
Up to the scalp,
So soft.
Every hair on your head,
So soft.
Fingers,
So soft.
Toes,
So soft.
From head to toes.
From toes to head.
This body is protected and held by rest.
The right side of your body.
The left side of your body.
The front side of your body.
The back side of your body.
The whole body.
The whole body.
Whole body,
So soft,
So held by creation herself.
Allow your body to welcome opposite experiences.
To let go and to be held.
How might it be?
Do nothing and receive everything.
How might it be?
Rest in what you already know.
Rest in the mystery.
How might it be?
Be in between in between.
Be in between.
Opposites.
Underneath what's known.
Floating above the mystery Allow a space of silence,
Complete silence,
To meet your resting self.
Visions and sensations may cross your way.
Nothing may come.
All is OK.
All is good.
I have been resting in creation.
I have been resting in creation.
I have been resting in creation.
And now I'm ready to come back.
Come back.
Come back dear one.
Allow your senses to gently reconnect with the environment around you.
How might it be to feel the taste in your mouth?
To smell the air.
To deepen your breath.
To welcome first lights and colors by slowly cracking your eyes open.
To gently stretch and yawn.
Finding space in your body.
How might it be?
You can integrate and seal this practice with a gesture of gratitude towards yourself.
I thank you,
Artist.
I thank you.
Thank you.
Come back.
Come back.
Come back.
Thank you for creating.
Thank you for your art.
Thank you for resting.
Your art is so needed.
Your rest is so needed.
Welcome back to your rested self Be gentle with yourself now.
Move slowly as a newborn baby.
Sip in the delicacy of the space that follows.
