Learning to trust in the body takes time.
It also takes a whole lot of patience and a whole lot of practice.
As we build a trusting relationship with our body's signals,
Our ability to safely and consensually express our sexual needs becomes a little easier,
And the feelings we feel after we do so can feel more positive and affirming.
In our practice today,
We'll work with the throat chakra,
Our energy center for communication and expression,
And we'll do this by breathing,
Humming,
And affirming our body's needs.
We'll open in a posture that's supportive,
Preferably seated with your legs crossed or feet rooted into the ground.
Breathing in,
Feeling the crown of the head reach towards the sky,
And as you exhale,
Feel your sits bones root into the surface beneath you.
You may wish to now close your eyes,
Or lower your gaze.
Coming into this moment,
Can you send any tension,
Pressure,
Or weight into the surface supporting you,
Allowing the face to completely relax,
Dropping the shoulders,
Releasing tension in the hips,
And allowing the legs to soften?
What can you let go of?
And now,
Opening the breath,
Feeling the flow of the breath,
In and out through the nose.
Explore deepening the breath,
Extending each out breath,
And begin to notice the space between each breath.
Without thinking,
We can trust that the next breath will arrive,
Trusting in our body's wisdom of the breath.
And moving into the throat center,
Feeling the breath move and clear any stuck energy in the throat space,
Clearing any areas of self silencing,
Clearing doubt,
Clearing the way for expression to emerge,
Clearing the way for our inner voice to speak to us.
And now bringing in the outer voice,
We'll use the practice of vocal toning to further release blockages in the throat center,
And just allow some ease in the body again,
Softening,
Moving the tongue to the roof of the mouth,
Relaxing your jaw and keeping the mouth closed.
Take an inhale through the nose,
And hum it out,
Exhale.
And we'll continue on just like this.
We'll take one more,
Inhale.
And exhale.
And humming exhale.
Staying here and noticing what you feel in the body,
Being present with whatever is in the body.
And transitioning back into the breath,
Taking three deep breaths.
Inhale.
And exhale.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Final big breath to the belly,
The chest,
To the crown of the head,
And even to the space above you.
And exhaling,
Letting go.
On your own time,
You may open your eyes if they're closed.
Feeling the space around your body.
Coming back into this moment.
Sometimes it's not about explaining ourselves,
Or giving anyone all the reasons why we are the way that we are.
It may be that we may need to clear the body with our breath,
Listen closely to the signals within,
And honor them,
Trusting in our intuition and authority.
As you move through your day,
I welcome you to note when you feel like over-explaining yourself.
Simply notice,
And see if you can tune in to what you're feeling instead.
And then move from there.
Take good care,
And I hope to see you sometime soon for our fifth meditation.
