When I Was Young

Passionately composed on acoustic guitar, "When I Was Young" offers a look back at childhood memories. The composition begins with a fond recollection expressing warmth and memories of family, and a tempo change midway represents the playful and explorative side of childhood.

"When I Was Young" was selected as a 2018 finalist for Best Contemporary Song of the Year by Roundglass Music Awards, a global organization honoring musicians who represent peace, wellness, and environmental consciousness.

Neil Tatar was nominated as a finalist for Enlightened Musician of the Year for this composition. The music begins with Neil on acoustic guitar and develops as he is joined by Premik Russell Tubbs: soprano sax, Charlie Bisharat : violin, Tony Levin : bass, Jeff Haynes: percussion, Noah Wilding: vocals and Will Ackerman : rainstick. Recorded at Imaginary Road Studios and produced by Will Ackerman, founder of Windham Hill.
