Welcome.
If you found your way here today.
Perhaps there is a part of you that This is simply tiring.
Tired of.
Trying to explain yourself.
Tired of wondering if people really hear you.
Tired of feeling unseen?
Misunderstood.
And down.
If that's where you are today,
I'm really glad you're here.
For the next few minutes.
There's nothing you need to explain.
Nothing you need to prove.
Nothing you need to defend.
Can simply arrive.
Let's start by taking a slow breath in.
Let it go.
Again,
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Relax your jaw.
Let your tongue rest.
Notice the support beneath you.
You don't have to hold yourself up quite so tightly right now.
Gently bring your awareness inward.
Without trying to change anything.
Just notice.
Where does the feeling of being misunderstood live inside your body.
Perhaps it's in your throat.
Where words have gotten stuck.
Perhaps it's a heaviness across your chest.
Or a knot in your stomach.
Maybe it's tension in your shoulders.
Or simply an ache.
That doesn't have a name.
Whatever you notice is welcome.
There's nothing to fix.
Simply becoming aware is enough.
Now imagine that you're sitting beneath a great willow tree.
Its branches hang low around you.
Creating a quiet place where you can simply rest.
No one is asking you to explain yourself here.
No one is deciding who you are before you've spoken.
The willow doesn't ask you to justify your feelings.
Simply offer shade.
Still nice.
Place to be.
You may have spent a lot of energy hoping.
Someone would finally understand.
And that's such a deeply human longing.
To be seen.
To feel like someone truly gets you.
For just this moment.
I'd like to offer a different invitation.
Instead of asking.
Will someone understand me?
What if you could simply ask?
Can I stay with myself?
Can I remain kind?
Toward myself.
Even if someone.
.
.
Misunderstands.
Remember who I am.
Without needing everyone else to agree.
Feel yourself sitting beneath the willow.
TV.
Rusty.
I'm not earning your place here.
To simply belonging.
Perhaps there's a younger part of you.
It's carried the weight of feeling unseen for a very long time.
Without trying to change the part.
Simply sit beside them.
You don't need the perfect words.
Just your presence.
As if you're quietly saying,
I'm here.
I'm not leaving.
You don't have to carry this alone.
Take another slow breath.
Notice what begins to soften.
Not because someone finally understood you.
Because for these few moments.
You didn't abandon yourself.
As we come to a close.
That you can come to this place anytime.
A place where you don't have to earn belonging.
Where you don't have to.
A place where you don't have to explain who you are.
You are welcome here,
Exactly as you are.
Take one final deep breath in.
Slowly let it go.
When you're ready.
Gently wiggle your fingers.
Your tone.
Slowly open your eyes.
