Welcome to mindfulness with Ruby.
As we begin this practice,
I would like for you to get comfortable in your current position.
Whether that's lying down,
Sitting on a chair or the floor,
Or even standing.
As you lower your gaze or close your eyes,
I would like for you to place your attention to your breathing.
Notice the quality of each breath that you're taking,
Of every inhale and of every exhale.
How does your body respond to each breath?
Do you feel tension anywhere within your body or any sensations?
Just notice.
We are simply being curious,
Kind and patient.
Not trying to change anything,
But just observing how we are right now in this moment.
If you become distracted by noise or thoughts,
That's okay.
With kindness,
Gently bring your attention back to your breathing.
You may find it helpful to place your hand over your stomach or your chest,
And feel the gentle rising and falling of each breath.
I invite you to take a deep inhale in through the nose,
And as you exhale,
Allow your whole body to relax,
Letting yourself on tension.
Again,
I'd like for you to notice the quality of your breathing.
Are you breathing deeply,
Taking short breaths or even holding your breath?
Just notice.
I would like to thank you for trying your best to commit to this practice.
I also encourage you to thank yourself for trying your best to commit to this practice.
When ready,
You may open your eyes and that will bring this practice to a close.
Thank you.
