Mindful Kids

The early childhood professional had embarked on a transformative journey about three years ago, when they began incorporating mindfulness practices into their interactions with young children. One day, in response to a child's difficulty in settling down for a nap, they spontaneously created a guided meditation called "Relaxation Story." This child, who had recently resisted naps, found solace and calm in the meditation, which reinstated the practice of napping for a time and fostered a sense of peace and understanding, even without sleep. Their journey into mindfulness had begun years earlier, with an 8-week course in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, followed by practice with a local sangha in Philadelphia in 2010 and 2011. Since then, they have deepened their practice and remained passionate about sharing mindfulness with children and parents. Insight Timer played a pivotal role in enhancing their daily meditation practice. With great enthusiasm, they looked forward to sharing their passion for fostering a more mindful world through guided meditations designed for children.
