The next few minutes is the time in your day for you to relax.

You'll find it pleasant and easy.

And each time you listen,

It will become easier and easier to relax.

You can also enhance this relaxation experience today by holding pleasant thoughts in your mind as you relax.

We're going to begin with some deep breathing,

The most effective way to calm and relax yourself.

As you breathe in,

Allow your breath to gather up any negative energy that is lingering in your body,

And as you exhale,

Freely release that stress and tension with your breath.

I'd like you to take three deep breaths to begin to energize your relaxation response.

So first,

Breathe in slowly,

And exhale.

And breathe in again,

Feeling yourself start to relax as you do.

And breathe out.

Good.

And one more time,

Breathe in deeply through your nose,

And let yourself sigh as you exhale.

Notice how easy it is to start to relax.

Now,

Settle into breathing normally.

Relax your breathing and notice how good it feels to just let go.

Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest and belly as you do,

The gentle rhythm that happens all by itself.

Now,

Relax your scalp.

Relax your jaw and your face.

Let the muscles around your eyes and your forehead relax.

Feel the comfort in your face as you allow yourself to relax.

With each comfortable breath,

Feel the relaxation going deeper.

Relax your mouth and allow your teeth to separate a little.

Relax your tongue.

Yes,

That's good.

Notice how much calmer you feel already.

Now,

Let your neck and shoulders relax and feel your shoulders drop as you do.

Sense how warm and comfortable your shoulders feel as they start to relax.

You can even say to yourself,

It feels good to finally relax.

My neck and shoulders feel so comfortable and relaxed.

Then,

Let your chest and your stomach relax.

Feel the muscles around your belly and your waistline relax.

Breathe and feel them releasing all tension.

With each full breath,

Feel the tension slipping away,

Draining away.

Enjoy this wonderful sensation as you notice how much calmer and more relaxed you are now.

Now,

Take another deep breath in and as you breathe in,

Sense peace and calm filling every cell of your body.

And as you breathe out,

Release any remnants of stress that may have been remaining in your energy field.

And with two long,

Slow breaths,

Open your eyes and come back to the present moment,

Feeling calmer,

Relaxed,

And refreshed.
