You are listening to the Motherhood Unstressed Podcast and I'm your host,

Liz Carlisle.

Thank you so much for tuning in,

For taking the time for yourself today to go deeper,

To reflect,

To come to know who you really are and how your mind works.

This is a meditation that I think is a great idea for anyone looking to get more control over their mind,

The racing thoughts,

Because it's applicable in any situation in life.

If you ever start to feel triggered or get caught up in the emotions of the day or on social media,

What we're going to learn here and do here today is going to make you stronger so that you can stand in who you really are and not be swayed by the energy and the words of others.

It's a very simple meditation.

First let's start by closing your eyes and focusing on your breathing.

Notice the sensation of the air as it goes through your nose,

Filling your lungs,

Exchange,

And then the exhalation out through your nose.

Let your breath transform your body from a state of alertness or stress to one of natural flow.

Come to realize the soft,

Gentle nature of your body,

Its desire to be healthy,

Strong,

Connected.

With every breath,

Fall in deeper in love with your existence,

With your aliveness,

With the miracle that you're even here at this time in history,

Doing this meditation with me and so many others all over the world.

As you go deeper into the void inside,

At the same time,

Feel your connection to everyone else around you,

The electricity within.

Bring your awareness now to the top of your head and visualize it.

Just like a radio tower emitting out into the universe,

Your divine light.

Feel your vibration elevate with every breath.

Feel negative emotions like anger,

Jealousy,

Shame,

Guilt.

Feel that drip out of you into the floor,

Past the floorboards,

The foundation,

And into the earth to be cleansed away.

Understand how magnificent you are and your connection to all that is good in the universe.

Keep breathing,

Settle in.

And after a few more breaths,

I'm gonna offer up some imagery for you to hold in your mind's eye.

And then when I move on to the next image,

I just want you to let that imagery go.

Let it slip away again into the floorboards in a way no longer with you.

The first image I want you to imagine is a brilliant red apple.

Notice the sheen.

Notice how good it looks,

How ripe.

Notice the light reflecting off of it.

As your mouth watering,

You can almost taste the sweetness.

See it in 3D.

You can even reach out with your hand and grab it and bring it to you.

Now let it go and focus on the next image of a lion in its natural habitat,

Free,

Fully embodying itself.

Not afraid,

Not self-conscious,

Natural and wild,

Calm and assured.

Smell the dirt under its paws.

Look into its eyes.

Feel its inner power.

Let it go.

Now imagine a great museum,

Granite walls,

Heavy doors,

A multitude of windows.

And looking past inside,

You can see great works of art hanging on the walls or in the center on display from ancient Greece,

The Renaissance,

Ancient Egypt,

Notes of the past now there for our purview.

See every detail of a painting,

A Renoir.

See it in your mind's eye,

Shape of colors and textures and let it go.

The last image I want you to conjure up is that of a full moon and there's nothing around it,

Just a midnight black sky.

And it's so lit up,

You can see the craters,

The shadows.

It's almost like you could reach out and grab it.

See the moon.

Feel the quiet of the night in your place in the vast universe.

Let it go.

You understand now how powerful your mind is,

That you could taste the apple,

Feel the presence of the lion,

Reach out and touch the texture of the art,

The museum.

Feel the silence of a moonlit night.

Same power you have to conjure up these thoughts and emotions,

Physical reactions is the same power you have in everyday life.

These thoughts are just thoughts,

They come and go.

They elicit great response in your body.

But if you train your mind like this,

You have control of what you hold onto and what you let slip through out of your body and through the floorboards.

You are the ultimate creator of your reality and your life.

Witness the power you just had with this simple exercise and use it to live well.
