Before we begin,
Please make sure you're in a space where you can fully relax,
Not driving,
Not multitasking.
This is your time,
And it belongs to you.
Finding a comfortable position now,
Either lying down or seated with your head supported,
Allowing your body to shift and settle,
Let your hands rest softly,
And let your eyelids grow heavy,
Gently closing when you're ready,
And bring your attention to your breath,
And without changing anything at all,
Just notice it,
Notice the rise,
And you can let your shoulders drop,
Allow your jaw to soften,
Let your whole body begin to settle as you allow your breath to carry you deeper into this present moment.
I'd like to invite you to imagine in your mind's eye a beautiful stairway,
Wide,
Inviting down towards deep rest,
Inner calm and complete ease in your nervous system,
And at the bottom of the staircase is a quiet space where your body can fully restore,
Open to subtle change,
And as I count from 10 to 1,
You can begin to walk down step by step,
Feeling more relaxed with each number,
10,
Stepping onto the staircase now,
Feeling the tread beneath your feet,
9,
Allowing yourself to let go a little more,
8,
Feeling the weight in your body grow heavier,
7,
Going deeper,
Allowing yourself to let go,
Every breath taking you further to you're almost there,
And arriving in a deeply peaceful,
Healing space,
And you can allow your breath to remain soft and steady,
And in this quiet place,
Bring to mind the word procrastination,
And just notice it without judgment.
What does that word stir inside of you?
It might be frustration,
Maybe guilt,
It could even be shame,
But today,
We begin to see procrastination not as a failure,
But as a signal.
It's not laziness,
But communication.
It's your nervous system saying something doesn't feel safe,
I'm overwhelmed,
I need more support,
Maybe it's the fear of doing it wrong,
Or the fear of starting something you're unsure how to finish,
It could be perfectionism,
Or exhaustion,
Or sadness that hasn't yet had space to be felt,
Whatever the reason,
It makes sense,
And so instead of fighting that part of you,
We thank it.
You,
Who presses pause,
Has simply been trying to protect you,
And that may not be the way forward anymore,
But it was never here to hurt you,
And now,
You invite that part to speak.
You may hear a whisper,
You may feel a sensation,
Or maybe something wordless softens inside you.
Just listen with compassion.
Now,
Imagine yourself walking along a quiet forest trail,
And the ground is soft,
And the sunlight filters through the trees as you feel calm.
And just ahead is a small stone bench beneath a tree,
And sitting on that bench is you.
It's the version of you who doesn't procrastinate,
Who feels safe taking action,
One step at a time.
This version of you smiles at you.
There is no judgment.
Notice how they sit,
How their energy feels,
How just their presence shifts something inside of you.
And they speak now just a few simple truths.
You don't have to do everything at once.
You only have to begin.
It's okay to go at your own pace.
You can move forward and still feel safe.
And as you allow those words to sink in,
Allow them to echo through your body,
Landing gently in your nervous system,
And using your imagination,
See one small step that you've been putting off,
Something simple,
Something doable.
See yourself taking that one small step with calm,
And feel how good it feels to just begin.
You're simply aligning.
When you say softly to yourself in your mind,
It's safe to begin.
My body always knows what to do.
I choose progress over perfection every time.
It's those small steps that create big change.
And you can allow those truths to root themselves deeply within you.
Allow your subconscious to take them in.
Let this moment be new momentum to begin to build.
This is your new pattern.
It's who you are now.
And from this gentle,
Regulated place,
You can move forward freely.
And if you are listening before sleep,
You can allow yourself to drift off now,
Letting your subconscious integrate all that you've remembered here.
And when you wake,
You'll feel calm,
Knowing that you were never stuck.
You were simply waiting until it felt safe to begin,
And now.
