Welcome to your coming home to yourself meditation.
For reconnecting with yourself.
Find somewhere comfortable.
Somewhere you can allow yourself to simply be.
You might like to lie down.
Settle into your favorite chair.
Or sit somewhere quiet where you can take a bit of time just for you.
And when you're ready.
Gently allow your eyes to close.
Allow yourself to arrive.
Take a slow easy breath in and let it go.
Another breath in.
Breathing in a bit of space.
And as you breathe out,
Allow yourself to soften.
Now there is nowhere you need to be.
Nothing you need to achieve.
Nothing you need to prove.
For these next few moments you can put everything else down.
You can simply be here.
So often we find ourselves caught up in the busyness of life.
We move from one thing to the next,
Thinking about what needs to be done.
Who needs us?
What we've forgotten.
And what tomorrow might bring.
We become so used to looking outwards that we sometimes forget to turn our attention inwards.
To check in with ourselves.
To ask ourselves how we're really feeling.
What we really need.
Or simply how we are.
And perhaps somewhere along the way.
You've become a bit disconnected from yourself.
Perhaps you've been giving so much of your time and energy to the world around you that you've forgotten to leave a little for yourself.
If any of this feels familiar,
Let yourself know that it's okay.
You haven't lost yourself.
You're simply being invited to return.
Bring your attention gently to your breath.
There's no need to change it.
Or make it deeper.
Just notice the quiet rhythm of breathing in.
And breathing out the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
Notice the weight of your body being held by whatever is beneath you.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Unclench your jaw.
Relax the space between your eyebrows.
Let your hands rest.
And with every exhale.
Imagine yourself settling a little more deeply into this moment.
You don't need to become anything different.
You don't need to feel anything in particular.
You're allowed to arrive exactly as you are.
Tired if you're tired.
Restless if you're restless.
Happy,
Sad,
Uncertain,
Hopeful.
Whatever is there.
Let it be there.
There is room for all of it.
Now gently imagine yourself walking along a quiet path.
It might be a path through a woodland,
Across an open meadow.
Beside the sea.
Or somewhere entirely your own.
There's no right place to imagine.
Simply allow a peaceful place to come to mind.
Or rest with the feeling of being somewhere safe and quiet.
With each step.
You move a little further away from the expectations of the outside world.
The things people ask of you.
The roles you play.
The endless list of things you think you should be doing.
You don't have to push any of these things away.
Just allow them to fall into the background for a little while.
They'll still be there when you need them.
Now.
You're giving yourself permission to pause.
To breathe.
To listen.
As you continue along your path.
Begin to imagine that you're returning to a place within yourself.
A place that's always been there.
Beneath the noise.
Beneath the expectations.
Beneath the worries about whether you're doing enough.
Being enough.
Or getting everything right.
A place that doesn't ask you to earn your rest.
A place that doesn't measure your worth.
By how much you accomplish.
A place where you can simply exist.
This is your inner home.
And you're always welcome here.
Take a moment to notice what it feels like to be here.
Perhaps there's a feeling of warmth.
Perhaps there's a sense of stillness.
Perhaps you don't feel anything particularly different.
And that's okay too.
Coming home to yourself isn't always a big moment of realisation.
Sometimes it's simply noticing your breath.
Feeling your feet on the ground.
Recognising that you need a bit of rest.
Or remembering something that once brought you joy.
Sometimes it's a quiet decision to listen to yourself again.
To honour what you feel.
To make space for what matters to you.
Until you remember.
That you're a person who deserves your own care too.
If it feels comfortable,
Gently ask yourself these three questions.
What do I need a little more of in my life?
What might I need a little less of?
And what is one small thing.
I could do to feel a little more like myself.
You don't need to search for perfect answers.
You don't need to make a plan or promise yourself that everything will change.
Just notice whatever comes.
Perhaps it's more rest.
More laughter,
More time outdoors.
More time spent doing something simply because you love it.
Perhaps it's permission to say no.
Or permission to start again.
Whatever your answers are,
Meet them with kindness.
You don't have to do everything today.
Sometimes one small act of care is enough.
Now bring a little awareness back to your body Feel the space around you.
Notice the air against your skin.
Feel the support beneath you.
And take a slow,
Gentle breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine gathering back the parts of your attention that have been scattered throughout the day.
The energy you've given to other people.
Or the thoughts you've carried.
Or the moments you've spent somewhere other than here.
Allow your attention to settle back into your own body.
Back into your own breath.
Back into this moment.
You don't need to carry everything all at once.
You can return to yourself whenever you need to.
In the quiet moments.
In the space between one task and the next.
In a breath taken before you answer.
In a gentle reminder that you matter too.
Coming home to yourself doesn't mean you have to step away from the world.
It means remembering that you belong to yourself within it.
And before we finish,
Allow these words to settle somewhere within you.
I am allowed to slow down.
I am allowed to listen to myself.
I am allowed to change,
To grow and to start again.
I do not need to have everything figured out.
I do not need to be everything to everyone.
I can meet myself where I am.
And I can always find my way home.
Take one final gentle breath in.
And slowly let it go.
Begin to notice the room around you.
Perhaps gently move your fingers and toes.
And if you'd like to stretch in whatever way feels good.
And when you're ready.
Allow your eyes to open softly.
Take your time There's no need to rush back into anything.
Carry a bit of this quiet time with you.
A little more space.
A little more kindness and a gentle reminder that wherever life takes you,
You can always return to yourself.
Thank you for taking this time for you.
May you move through the rest of your day feeling a little more connected.
A little more grounded.
And a little more at home within yourself.
