Hi,
I'm Christina from Heaven's White Desk.
Here's another story.
I had just finished leading a fire ceremony.
A young woman remained around the campfire,
Still seated on a log,
Her body folded over,
Her arms laying on her knees,
Her head laying on her arms.
By the rise and fall of her back,
I knew she was weeping.
I quietly moved and sat down next to her.
Is there something I could help you with?
I asked.
No,
She sobbed.
I continued to sit with her anyway and wanted to let her know,
By my presence,
That her pain was worthy of love,
Even if that meant sitting with her in silence.
Several minutes went by and a little squirrel emerged from the forest.
The squirrel rested at her feet,
Holding something in its tiny hands.
It too had brought the gift of presence.
A few minutes later,
A bunny quietly hopped out from under a bush and stopped at the other side of her feet,
A few steps away from her,
Rested on the ground,
And started to slowly nibble at the grass.
Birds,
Deer,
And several other forest animals began to gather in a circle around the woman.
She sobbed and sobbed and sobbed.
The animals and I quietly sat with her,
Giving her space,
Sitting with her out of concern and love,
Compassion and empathy.
There is nothing you can do for me,
She said as she sat up.
Shock washed over her face as she noticed all of the animals that had gathered.
How?
How did you do that?
I didn't,
I whispered.
They gathered here on their own.
They are here for you.
She looked around the group that had gathered.
None of the animals were afraid.
They seemed delighted that she was no longer sobbing and some of them began to take small steps forward.
I whispered again.
Perhaps they are here to bring you a gift of communication.
It feels like they have something to tell you.
What do I do?
She asked.
I surveyed the animals.
They want you to ask them,
I quietly replied.
How do I ask?
She responded,
Worried she was going to do it wrong.
The animals took another small step forward.
My love,
God's voice was deep,
Powerful,
And soothing and merely echoed through the heavens.
Be not afraid to ask yourself how you move forward.
The answers are within you.
Let them emerge.
Rise,
My love,
Rise.
This time,
She weeped tears of pure love.
I can hear them.
She looked at me astonished.
I can hear them.
I smiled.
What do they say?
The squirrel,
She pointed,
Just wants me to know he loves me.
The bunny is hungry,
She laughed.
She looked at me wide-eyed.
I can feel their love too.
She put her hand on her heart.
The deer is telling me a story that I do not understand.
Oh no,
There's a jackrabbit.
I don't see a jackrabbit,
But I feel it.
She stood up and walked around to find the jackrabbit.
It is hiding.
It is afraid to be seen.
It saw a fox earlier and wants to lay low,
But when the coast is clear,
The jackrabbit would like some food.
It doesn't want to be food.
I laughed.
Fair enough.
For several minutes,
She made her way around the group of animals that had come to visit her and then slowly walked up to me and collapsed on the ground with her legs crossed and her head hanging again.
Christina,
I do not feel worthy of this gift.
I am so broken.
I do not feel like I deserve to have the love of these animals.
I am only going to mess this up.
I do not even know what to do with this.
Maybe there is nothing to do,
I whispered.
Maybe this is for you,
I paused,
To heal.
I quietly let her think about all that has happened for a few moments.
The animals gathered closer to her and laid down around her.
Maybe,
I said and then paused again,
This gift is for you to discover where you want to go next.
A safe space to gather,
To explore within your energy,
To connect deeper with spirit through your animal guides,
To let them lead you,
Teach you,
Hold you,
And heal you.
Tears of healing slowly trickled down her cheek.
What if all of your spirit guides have come to you as animals because they know man,
Humans,
Have caused you so much pain that they want to nurture you through your love of animals.
She began crying again,
But this time a small piece of her heart healed.
I can feel many adventures.
When you are ready,
Meet them by the fire and let them guide you.
She nodded in understanding and walked back to the fire,
The animals following close behind.
Where to next,
She asked,
Laughing through her tears.
The jackrabbit emerged from a hole in the ground and began jumping up and down and walking in a new direction.
She laughed again.
I guess I'm going that way today,
She said as she turned and waved goodbye over her shoulder.
The animals followed after her.
A small little mouse ran back from the group,
Jumped up on the log and then transformed into God.
You were the mouse,
I asked with a smile.
And the deer and the squirrel and the jackrabbit,
God whispered.
Come,
I have somewhere I'd like to lead you.
