Instead of trying to fight your thoughts during meditation, what if each time your mind wanders you send love to wherever it goes and then when you bring your attention back to yourself, you send love to yourself too. I wonder just how much more enjoyable your meditations will become? This is a spoken word audio with short spaces of silence, it was recorded live and you'll know it's done when you hear the word 'Namaste'.

Hi,

I'm chlorine and in this meditation I invite you to send love.

So to begin you might be lying down or in a comfortable seat,

Bringing one or both hands to the heart and feeling in,

Notice space on the inhale and softness,

Openness on the exhale.

You might see it as a light pulsing,

Growing larger on the inhale,

Brighter and smaller,

Just a little dimmer on the exhale.

You're simply going to notice your heart,

Feeling the breath move through the space,

Openness inhale,

Softness exhale.

And gradually the mind will wander in the silences,

The spaces.

And whenever the mind wanders,

Notice where it goes,

Somewhere in the past,

Somewhere in the future,

And send love to that place.

If it's a person,

Send love to the person.

Place such as work or home,

Send love there.

If it's an idea,

Project,

Send love to it too.

And then bring your mind's eye back to your own body,

Maybe your heart and your breath,

And send love to yourself.

Notice just how long it takes before the mind begins to go elsewhere.

Where did it go this time?

Same place as before,

Or somewhere new.

Send love there.

And bring your awareness back to yourself,

Your body,

Your breath,

And send love to yourself.

And noticing any flickers of the mind,

If it's being drawn anywhere,

Past,

Future,

Maybe to a particular topic,

Such as relationships,

Work,

Your health,

Or money.

Send love there.

Bring your mind's eye back to you,

Feeling into your body,

Your heart,

As it expands,

Flows on the inhale,

And softens,

Surrenders,

Releases on the exhale,

Sending love to yourself.

Now consciously looking ahead to the rest of your day,

Or the night,

And send love ahead of yourself to where you will be.

So love is there waiting for you,

As if you were walking into someone,

Giving you a hug with open arms,

Doing that for yourself.

Light the love within me,

Seize and honors the light,

The love within you.

What a lovely meditation. I am having a bit of an anxiety attack and sending love to situations and thoughts was helpful. I found the teacher’s voice soothing. I listened to this at bedtime and I like the idea of sending love ahead of me. 💛
