Welcome.
In today's meditation,
We will walk together to a place of serenity and inspiration.
I invite you to take whatever position is most comfortable to you.
I have chosen a seated position where my feet can ground into the floor beneath me.
Let us begin with three deep breaths.
Breathe in.
And out.
Again,
Breathe in.
And out.
In and out.
You are standing at the edge of a sandy beach.
It is the tail end of a summer day.
The air is still holding the warmth of the daytime,
But the sun is moments away from setting.
You look down at your feet,
Your bare feet,
And you decide to step onto the sand.
Your right foot slowly sinks into the heated grains.
The warmth then travels,
First across your soul,
And then slowly wrapping around your toes and ankle until finally embracing over the top and all around.
You lift your left foot to join your right and let the soothing sand surround it.
The warmth instantly pulls the weight of the day from the top of your head,
Down your neck,
Through your shoulders,
Down your upper arms,
And your torso,
Through your belly,
And through your forearms.
Now your fingertips.
Gently pulling down your lower back and your hips,
Down your glutes,
Your thighs,
Spiraling around and then down your knees,
The weight getting heavier around your calves,
Heavier at your ankles,
And then like the last grains of sand sliding through an hourglass,
Your body becomes light.
You start to walk toward the gentle waves and the multicolored glow of the sunset.
Your eyes fix on the half circle of orange that is kissing the shimmering water,
The swaths of pink and purple swirling in the cirrus clouds.
Everything glows,
Everything shimmers.
With each step that you take,
You feel the heartbeat of the earth.
You feel your own heartbeat and you walk in harmony with the heated ground beneath you.
As the colors get deep purple,
The people that you pass are all leaving the beach,
But not you.
You have only just arrived.
You hear the in and out of the gentle waves and just like the heartbeat,
You notice that your breath and the breath of the ocean are one.
You breathe in and out.
The waves and your breath are so relaxed.
You breathe in and out.
The full moon starts to peek over the dunes on your left.
In this moment,
The sun and the moon share the sky.
It is only for just this one moment.
You feel the immense joy of the universe all in harmony with itself and then the last orange sliver of sun sinks behind the waves.
You are now bathing in the silver light of the smiling full moon.
The little plover birds hardly know that it is nighttime as they continue to chase the waves like children as you walk on the sand beside them.
You start to feel your mood rise with the smiling moon as the waves continue to ebb and flow to your right and you ask yourself,
How is it nighttime?
You notice that the air is so warm and the moon continues to be bright.
It is as if the world wants you to be here right now in this moment.
You've been walking for a while now and you're lined up perfectly with the full moon's beaming light and you notice that it shines on the bit of beach where you stand.
You follow with your eyes the ray of light and look down at your feet.
There is a word written in the sand and you read the word health.
You step over this word and sit directly facing the moon while the waves continue on behind you.
You breathe with the waves as you meditate on this simple word.
You breathe in and out,
In and out.
I'm going to pause speaking for a moment while I let you continue to meditate around the word health.
I want you to breathe and think about all the things mental,
Emotional,
Spiritual,
Physical,
All the things that help you to feel healthy.
When we feel healthy,
We are at our most creative and most energetic.
So for the next minute,
Breathe in everything that brings you health.
Breathe in everything that brings you health.
Breathe in everything that brings you health.
The moon has made everything clear to you.
As you say these words out loud or to yourself,
You begin to feel whole again.
I am courageous.
I am creative.
I am serene.
I am disciplined.
I am worthy.
I am healthy.
Breathe in and out.
You feel recharged and ready to make your way back.
The stars glitter over the dark waters that are still sparkling with the moonlight.
As you walk,
The birds play by the water's edge and you step by step return.
The warm sand gets softer and softer with each step.
As the sound of the waves become more and more distant,
You begin to make your way over the dunes.
You stop for one more minute and notice your breath.
And as you breathe,
You know that you are always here and you are always serene.
