Welcome to this conversation around empowered healing.
In our time together,
We are going to talk about the word empowerment.
And about healing,
And how when you step into the place of empowerment,
Many,
Many things can change.
And at the end,
I'm going to share with you some mantras around empowered healing that you can carry forward with you.
One of the most difficult parts of cancer is the feeling of loss of control.
The feeling that everyone else is telling you what to do,
And where you need to be,
And what you need to eat,
And how you need to move,
And all kinds of other pieces of advice.
And as a person living with a cancer diagnosis,
That can feel very disempowering.
It can feel like.
You don't have any control over your decisions.
You don't get to make choices because everyone's making them for you.
And that's not necessarily true.
It's just what it can feel like.
Taking back some control.
Is a very,
Very special piece of the process because it's your piece.
It's what you get to do for yourself.
And control does not have to be a big action.
Control can be little things like going for a walk when you feel like it.
Eating something that is comforting for you.
Saying yes to going out with someone or saying no to going out with someone.
Empowerment and control can work hand in hand to help you feel more like you are part of the process of your life,
Not just part of the medical process.
And so as you start to explore becoming more empowered,
I invite you to be gentle with yourself.
I invite you to select things that are easy.
That are things that maybe you already had before cancer interrupted your life.
So that you can feel comfortable,
So that it can feel secure and safe and easy for you to say,
I'm actually going to do that today,
Or I'm going to choose to not do that.
So as you think about yourself,
Maybe start to create a list.
A list of things that you know you can still do.
A list of things that cancer actually can't take away from you.
Pieces of yourself.
Of your person that aren't changed by cancer.
Your laugh.
Your sense of humor,
Your passions,
Your activities that bring you joy.
There are so many things that cancer doesn't take away.
And sometimes it's easy to forget that.
In the big picture of tests and scans and appointments and overwhelm and fear.
And I understand.
And that's why I'd like to offer you some mantras to carry forward.
So that you can continue to not just bring the things that you enjoy back into your life.
But to also feel more empowerment in your life with cancer.
So let's try some mantras.
If you'd like to,
You can gently close your eyes or just soften your gaze.
And just allow the mantra to enter with your breath.
Settle into your heart,
Into a place in your body maybe that feels comfortable for you,
And just notice how it lands.
Notice if it's a mantra that you want to carry forward with you.
Or maybe it's something that you just want to put aside for now and maybe come back to later.
So let's explore some empowered healing mantras.
Let's begin with a breath in.
I am the author of my healing story.
Just let that settle in.
Just see how that feels.
And just take a big breath.
And out.
Or perhaps you prefer this mantra,
I choose to focus on what brings me strength and light.
And just breathe that in.
And out.
I choose to focus on what brings me strength and light.
And just let that settle.
Let's explore another mantra.
I am not just surviving.
I am learning how to thrive.
And breathe that in.
And out.
And notice how that settles in your body.
Without judgment,
Just noticing.
And I'd like to offer you one more mantra for you to explore.
Notice.
If this is the mantra that resonates for you and that you want to carry forward in your day.
And in the days to come.
Abundance flows to me and through me,
One moment at a time.
Abundance flows to me and through me one moment at a time.
Just breathe that in.
And out.
And just let that settle.
Let it land in your heart,
In your body.
Just take a few breaths here.
And just notice.
What empowerment can feel like for you.
It doesn't have to be big.
It can be as simple as your breath.
As simple as a mantra.
As simple as you making one choice that feels good for you.
And that.
Is how you can start to take back some control.
And to feel empowered in your walk with cancer.
Have a beautiful rest of the day.
