This time of meditation will help you achieve the healthy deep sleep your body needs. In this guided relaxation meditation you will travel to Tuscany and be taken on a walk through the beautiful lavender fields that grow there. Let’s bring the energy of lavender into your deep and restful sleep tonight.

Hello,
My name is Karen Voss.
Thank you for joining me in this guided meditation for deep sleep.
Tonight you will release what is not serving you for a deep and restful sleep.
Let it go in the mind and restoring your body.
This is an invitation for you to create space for a time of personal expansion and relaxation.
Inviting the sleep your body needs and wants.
It will be what it is meant to be for you.
There are no expectations or demands.
This time of meditation will help you achieve the healthy deep sleep your body needs.
In this guided relaxation meditation you will travel to Tuscany and be taken on a walk through the beautiful lavender fields that grow there.
In sleep studies researchers have found that lavender increase low wave deep sleep.
Slowing down the heartbeat and relaxing the body's muscles.
Let's bring the energy of lavender into your deep and restful sleep tonight.
Create a space that welcomes rest.
You deserve this time and this space.
As you lay down in your bed feel your sheets.
Feel your bed as it supports you.
Let yourself relax into your bed.
Let your bed hold you.
Feel the pillow under your head softening your neck and shoulders.
When you are comfortable you are ready to begin.
As we begin take three deep breaths in.
Breathing in one two three.
Holding one two three and releasing one two three.
With each breath that you gift your body you are breathing in serenity and calmness and relaxation.
Releasing tension and stress and any other thoughts or negative emotions with each out breath.
Breathing in for three counts one two three.
Hold for three counts one two three and now release for three counts one two three.
Breathing in deeply and releasing deeply.
Continue this breathing and as you breathe become very comfortable in your body.
Observe your body.
Notice any sensations in your body or anything that your body is telling you in this moment.
You can start by sending love into your toes and feet.
Give them gratitude for all they have done for you today.
Wiggle your toes and smile as they move against your soft sheets.
As you continue to breathe deeply move your breath into your legs.
Give them gratitude for their strength and willingness to support you wherever you go.
Release any tension you feel by sending your breath into them.
Bury your breath into your hips.
Move them gently in your bed side to side.
Then let them sink down and rest.
As you carry your breath into your chest and shoulders,
Breathe now.
Send that breath into your shoulders.
If you feel tension there gently roll them.
Feel them let go into your soft bed.
Moving down into your neck as you gently move it side to side.
On your pillow give thanks to your neck.
Your neck that helps you experience everything.
Send your breath into the front and back of your neck.
Your head awaits your breath.
Move your jaw gently.
Release any tension there from the day.
Feel your head give into the pillow.
Feel the softness,
All the support around you as you begin to relax in this sleep meditation.
If any thoughts or worries come to mind know that you can set them aside and come back to them tomorrow.
You do not have to ignore them.
You may simply set them aside for another space and another time.
As you continue to breathe with each in and out breath you begin to relax deeper and deeper into your relaxation.
And as you get comfortable in your relaxation I want you to picture yourself walking on a cobblestone street in an old village in Tuscany.
The village is quiet and you stroll along the narrow streets enjoying the golden light playing off the stone walls of the old buildings around you.
You can hear children laughing through a window with green shutters.
You come to an old archway with big doors that are wide open.
The entrance to this entrancing village.
You step out and look around you.
Take in that picture-perfect view of the Tuscan countryside.
You are perched on a hillside.
From your village you can see the cypress trees dotted across the landscape,
The rolling vineyards and lavender fields around you.
If there was a place that filled your heart this would be it.
Breathing deeply,
Slowing your breath,
You feel your body get more comfortable in what is holding you for your sleep tonight.
You are happy in this place and you begin to move towards the lavender fields.
It is a very pleasant warm summer evening.
You deeply inhale the warm summer air.
You take a moment to breathe in and out slowly.
Ah,
The fresh air.
How nice it is to be outside.
You continue to walk and your body is feeling so good.
Your legs are stretching out and your skin is absorbing the warmth from the sun.
As you come closer you can see that the fields of lavender ahead of you are gently rolling upwards.
Like a beautiful purple wave reminding you of the ease of nature,
The ebb and flow gently back and forth.
Like you're breathing now,
Allowing with ease,
Inhaling and exhaling.
You are getting so close now.
Oh yes,
The purple is now an intense lilac color and the air is filled with that beautiful scent.
Fresh,
Healing,
Inviting.
You could get lost in this place.
A true feast of your senses.
You are now moving through the lavender.
Gently brush your hands along their tops,
The soft spikes gently dancing in the warm summer breeze,
Brushing against your palm.
Breathing in the floral,
Herbal,
Natural scent all around you.
You are climbing,
Though these rolling soft hills are climbed with ease.
As you get closer to the top,
You lean down and you pick a few lavender stems just for you.
Carrying your stems with you,
You arrive at the top.
Oh my,
It is beautiful.
You look back and see your village and you look around you in all directions.
The golden Tuscan light flowing over the gentle moving land.
You decide to rest at the top of this lavender field.
There is soft grass at the top and a few trees growing.
You sit so comfortably on the soft grass holding your lavender.
You feel pulled to braid it like an ancient custom is moving you right now.
Like the land is guiding you.
You line up each piece together and make a tie with a blade of grass on one end.
You begin braiding.
Each crossover you say to yourself,
Body,
Mind,
Spirit.
Body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Your body is resting deeper.
Your mind is letting go with ease.
Your spirit is opening and welcoming sleep.
Your braid is almost complete and you decide to rest it beside you.
You are safe here and know that this is a wonderful place to begin your dreams tonight.
You lay down in the grass so comfortable.
So warm.
So ready to sleep amongst the lavender.
This is a place of warmth,
Healing,
And fresh fragrant air.
This is a place of good dreams and wishes.
You know within you that this is a gift.
A place that fills all of your senses.
You are so satisfied.
So ready to rest.
So comfortable.
Allow yourself to let go into this beautiful place.
Breathing in and releasing.
Slowing your breath.
Deepening your breath.
You are safe here.
Let yourself go deeper and deeper into the dreams that await you.
You sleep deeply and soundly.
You can barely notice your breath now because it has slowed to only what is needed for a deep and restful sleep.
You sleep deeply,
The lavender braid resting beside you.
Your breathing feels natural as it deepens.
You deserve this rest.
You sleep soundly now.
You are in this wonderful place.
You have let go of any unnecessary thoughts.
You are falling deeper and deeper into this dream.
You are deserving of this rest.
You will be rested for everyone in your life tomorrow.
This is the sleep you need to be the best you can be.
You sleep deeply and soundly.
Let your sleep allow your dreams to take you to beautiful good places.
The dream time is your time.
You sleep deeply and effortlessly.
Good.
Sleep comes easily for you.
You will be rejuvenated and energized when you arise in the morning.
