Dr.
Hello,
Lovely one.
How is your heart feeling today?
Is it happy and full of joy?
Or is it feeling a little battered and bruised?
Whatever it is feeling,
The answer is always love.
Love for others,
Love for yourself,
Love for all of life.
As Hafiz said,
Be kind to your sleeping heart.
Take it out into the vast fields of light and let it breathe.
So today we will practice letting your heart breathe and letting it love.
Let's begin by getting comfortable.
Nothing is more important to the ease of your meditation practice than comfort.
So let's settle in.
Now let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and then gently let that go.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in and then sigh it out,
Gently closing your eyes or keeping a soft gaze as you do so.
We'll use the mantra,
Aham prema,
Which means I am love.
You may use the Sanskrit,
English,
Or any other language you're comfortable with.
As you practice,
Thoughts may filter in.
The mantra may come and go.
That's perfectly normal.
When you realize you've drifted away from the mantra,
Just gently drift back and our meditation will be like a gentle gliding to and fro,
Like the swing of a pendulum.
I'll watch the time and when you hear my voice again,
Just continue to sit gently with your eyes closed.
So let's begin.
Let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Let's take another slow,
Full breath in.
Aham Prema.
Now imagine all that love you've just generated by using the mantra,
Filling your heart like a big ball of soft,
Golden light.
See that light grow in intensity until it fills you up and then flows out into the world.
See that light bathing all it touches in love.
And as that love continues to flow from you out into the world,
Repeat silently after me.
May your spirit be strong.
May you be safe and protected.
May you be filled with healing and goodness.
May you be held by love.
And now feel your heart as it breathes and as it loves.
Know that that love is with you always,
Protecting you,
Nurturing you,
Comforting you.
That love is who you are.
Now take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and then gently let that go.
Let's take another long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and on the out breath,
Gently open your eyes.
And as you go about your day to day,
Whenever things get to be too much,
Ask yourself,
Am I letting my heart breathe?
Am I letting it love?
And if the answer is no,
Just whisper to yourself,
Aham prema,
I am love.
I wish you a blessed day,
Dear one,
Full of love and light.
Namaste.
