Let's begin by taking a moment to settle your body into a comfortable position.
You may sit with your feet on the ground or laying down facing upwards with your palms on the floor.
We'll begin by closing our eyes.
As you're sitting or lying down,
Notice your breathing.
Notice the breathing in and breathing out.
Now notice any sensations you may have.
Perhaps it's a stream of thoughts.
Let your thoughts come and go as they may.
We will not judge our thoughts.
We will not act out our thoughts.
We are simply aware of them.
Now if you find your thoughts wandering,
Gently bring your mind back to the present.
With an open heart and mind,
I want you to think about some of the most important people in your life.
Think about how they make you feel.
Think about what you appreciate about them.
Say to yourself,
I am loved.
Now place your hands over your heart and say out loud,
I am love.
We will sit with this feeling for a moment.
Now gently bring your awareness to the present.
As you breathe in and out,
I want you to think of all the things you are grateful for.
They can be small little things that bring you joy or big things that have changed your life.
Now for each thing you feel grateful for,
I want you to say to yourself,
I am grateful for and say what it is that comes to mind.
Keep doing this until you run out of things that comes to mind.
When you are ready,
Take a long deep breath in as if you are breathing in the gift of gratitude and breathe out all that is no longer serving you.
Now we end with giving reverence to life's gifts.
As you sit in silence,
Notice the stillness of the space you are in.
Once you reach this space of stillness,
Notice your breathing.
With each breath,
Notice your chest expands and deflates.
Notice how you feel when I say the following.
I give thanks for the gift of life.
I give thanks for being alive.
I give thanks for the important people in my life.
I give thanks for all the things I've been given that brings me joy.
I give thanks for all the things that have made me who I am.
Now I want you to imagine that the light inside of you is growing brighter and is emanating all around you.
Notice the feelings inside of you.
How do you feel?
As you go about your day,
Imagine you are radiating this warm and bright light.
Imagine everyone you see and encounter can feel this warm light radiating from you and is blessed with your presence.
Thank you for this gift,
Thank you for your presence,
And thank you for this love.
Take one more deep breath in and slowly release.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
