I am Georgelina Zioli and I will read from my memoirs and the magical world of my inner child and God. A reading from God is cooking, Coping with unemployment. A memoir. In the midst of multiple crisis, My life had become unmanageable. Having lost my ability to make a living and having to sell my home as a result were part of the ordeal. It was during those difficult times that these pages were written. Riding on the light wave of humor and allowing my inner child to cry, Play, And laugh with God, I found a refuge where I felt safe, Strengthened, And held in love. I was so unhappy I had to get out of that job, And so I did. Only I didn't have another job to replace it. GJ, You sound so dramatic, Says God. Hey, I have no job, Alright? Yeah, So? I'm out of work. Don't you get it? Well, It's not like this is the first time. Well, That's true. So what's the big deal? Gee, God, What's with you today? Oh, I'm just here, Munching green ravioli. And what about you, Little one? It just seems I'm always getting myself in trouble, God. I must say, Little one, You do have a knack for that. Maybe I should stop knacking, Don't you think? And I should stop snacking. These green ravioli are giving me a tummy ache. Where did you get them anyway? In your fridge? Those ravioli were ancient. Well, So am I. Well, That's true. And they looked so very pretty in their green velvet coat. That was fungus, You knocky. Fungus is good. It seems I'm not the only one around here that gets in trouble. Hey, Don't look at me, Jay. I love fungus. And I love being out of that job. So what am I complaining about? Well, See? That's a good question right there. You think so, Huh? Yep, I think so. Giving up my job is scary. I'm walking away from my main source of income. I think God is cooking. God? Yes. Are you cooking? Yep, I'm cooking. That's what I thought. God is cooking my next situation in life because I have no idea of where I'm going. All the doors are closing. God is cooking new doors for me. Aren't you, God? Yep, That's what I thought. Another day in eternity. Hey, God? Yes. Are my doors cooked yet? Patience, My dear. Patience. Later. God? Not cooked yet. Didn't think so. Eternity. 8. 05 a. M. God? Yes. Still cooking? Still cooking. Oh, Come on. What's taking so long? Just working on the ingredients, Jay. You're still working on the ingredients? It's a complex recipe, Jay. You talk recipes gives me headache. We know cooking is not your thing, Little one. No, It's not. Just leave it to me. Can you leave it to me? That's kind of hard to do to tell you the truth. Can you? I try, But I'm keeping an eye on you. Some trust you have in me, Huh? You got that one right. Another day. For doors to open, You have to knock on them. Oh, Okay. Knock, Knock. Still cooking. Later that day. God? Yes. I think I'm having an insight. You are? Are you mixing your ingredients in my head? You could say that. How can you do that to me? Well, I needed a container. And you pick my head? With all the pots and pans in this house? Your head is a pot and pan, All right, Jay? So you think my head is a good container? It could use some weeding, To be honest. But other than that, Are you going to weed my head? I can't do that, Jay. Why not? You have to weed your own head, Baby. Like I don't have enough to do, Now I have to weed my head, Huh? That wouldn't hurt. I'm just so tired, God. Go rest, Little one. I'm taking care of things. Yeah, Yeah. Mixing ingredients in my container. How can anyone sleep with a divine spatula scrambling one's container? You'll be happy when it's done, Jay. I better be. You don't just let some God spatula at your head for nothing, If you say so. So you think my head is a pot and pan, Huh? Yep. With a handle? No handle. My pot and pan has no handle? Nope. That explains it. You think so, Huh? Do you know what's like having a head with no handle? Not really. You've created a monster. I need a handle. Well, There's one in the porch door. But that's inside out and upside down. Well, That should work. Gee, God, You're not too encouraging here. Sorry, Jay. Couldn't help it. Well, See? That's the problem right there. You think so, Huh? Yes, I think so. Okay. A month later. God? Yes, I'm up in the air. Me too. You are God. You're supposed to be up in the air. Oh, Really? So when am I gonna land? Do you really want to land, Jay? Well, I've landed plenty on my nose. Some resilient nose you have. Resilient is good. Resilient is very good. Eternity, 355 a. M. God? Yes, I'm up in the air. You are in your bed, Jay, Sleeping. I'm not sleeping, God. Trust me on this one. I trust you, Jay. Do you trust me? Later. God? Yes, I'm so up in the air you wouldn't believe it. I believe in you, Jay. Do you believe in me? You keep changing the subject on me, Don't you? I do? Don't be so wise. I am wise. I'm up in the air, For gosh sakes. You sure are, My dear. And so what? I'm not sure I like it up here. You don't? I don't think so. What do you want? Some boring life? My life boring? Are you kidding me? I'm preparing a place for you, Baby. Oh, Really? Where is it? Patience, My dear. Patience. A few more ingredients. A few more ingredients. Later. God? Yes, I want to land. Well, You're half-landed, Right? Right, On a part-time job without benefits. Is that right? And you didn't know? Not really. And you make me land on unknown territory? Hey, That's the mystery of life. I'm sick of the mystery of life. Could I have some security here? Say what? You don't even know the word, Do you? Not really. God, You're so predictable. I can't stand you. You are some stubborn, Kooky little one. I can't believe you humans the things you invent. Like? Like that thing. That thing. Security? That one. What's that thing for, Anyway? So that you don't get scared. Why would I get scared? Not you, Knucklehead. Us humans, We need security. Right, And you look for it in all the wrong places, Like in your job. How can anyone look for security in a job? It blows my mind. All right, Cool it, Will you? Sorry, Jay. Humans get to me sometimes. Quite all right. Just curious, So why can't we humans look for security in a job? Because jobs come and go, Little one. That's why. You can say that again. Like going to the apple tree for pears. I like pears. Me too, Says God. Did you just change the topic on me? Who, Me? Some things never change, Do they? And some things are ever-changing, Jay. Like jobs? Like jobs. So why look for security in the apple tree? That's what I'd like to know, Says God. Me too, Says Jay. See what I mean? Epilogue. I have a steady job now, With benefits. New doors are opening for me. Hey, God? Yes? My doors are cooked. They are really cooked. Told you so. Took you three years, But hey, That's what I say. Now what? Time to open the doors, Jay. Time to go through the doors. A world of wonder is ahead of me, Waiting to be discovered. As I walk through the doors, God has cooked for me. Thank you, God. For? For cooking. You're most welcome, Little one. And after three years of uncertainty. . . Uncertainty? What's that, Says God? Oh, Shut up. Okay. After three years of being up in the air, It looks like we have finally landed. At least for a while, Says God. At least for a while? Gee, God. In 2011, I quit that job, Jumping yet again into the unknown. Some call it a leap of faith.
