Hello,
I'm Joe and welcome to this short meditation,
This short grounding.
Just take a moment to get comfy.
You don't need to sit like you're good at meditation,
Like you're some kind of Buddhist monk.
Just sit or lay or be however you want to be right now.
If no one were watching,
How would you lay?
How would you sit?
If you could just give yourself permission to do that.
And if you can't give yourself permission,
Then great,
Who cares?
Just be how you are as much as you can be right now.
And for this grounding,
I want you to imagine that the room is filled with people you love,
People who nourish you.
Whether they're real,
Whether they're imagined,
Fiction,
Someone out of your favorite film.
Just one by one,
Imagine that those people are in the room with you right now,
Doing this meditation alongside you.
Maybe there's someone lying next to you and their feet are just touching yours.
Maybe you look to your left and you see someone you admire smiling.
Maybe there's someone singing in the corner,
Your favorite musician,
Singing your favorite song.
Fill the room or wherever you are with as many people as you want around you.
But only the people that you want,
Not the people that you think should be there.
The people who have a nice positive nourishing effect on your nervous system,
That bring a smile to your face.
What does it feel like in your body to be surrounded by these wonderful people?
What do you notice in your face?
What do you notice in your throat?
And anything you notice,
Just imagine almost as if it's like a small child just trying to get your attention.
There might be a little bit of constriction or maybe a thought will come up.
Don't try and get rid of any of it.
Just be with it a moment.
Yeah,
Yeah,
There I hear you.
Yeah,
It's okay.
Coming back into the room with all those wonderful people around you,
What does it feel like in your heart?
What's happening in your heart space,
In your chest,
And in your core?
As I do this,
As I say this to you,
I'm imagining someone I really love lying next to me.
And their side of them,
The side of their leg is touching the side of my leg.
And it just feels so nice.
And it makes my heart and my chest feel soft.
Who do you want lying next to you?
Who would soften your heart?
And down to your belly,
What's happening in your belly right now?
As you imagine all of these people around you in this shared and sacred space,
And zooming out a bit to your whole body,
What is alive for you right now?
What would it be like in your whole body if this imagined exercise became reality?
How would you feel?
What would that be like for you?
Who would you be?
I'm going to stop talking here and end this from my side.
But if this feels especially nice for you,
I hope that you're able to stay in it for as long as you want.
