Find a comfortable place and position to sit.

Make some adjustments to your posture to feel comfortable and supported by your chair or pillows.

Allow your eyes to rest and shut if you feel ready or choose something calming to gaze at while you start to relax.

Whatever you're coming from,

Wherever your mind has just been,

Start to bring it here to this moment.

I will read you several affirmations that many new parents need to hear and repeat for themselves often to recognize and support the hard work you're doing every day.

Listen to the words and those that feel especially helpful or uplifting to you,

You might write down or carry with you for the times you need them most.

As you listen,

I encourage you to breathe deeply and give your full attention to the words and how they feel to you.

Let go of any judgmental thoughts you might have as you listen and allow yourself to be open to whatever feels helpful to you.

You are doing great.

You are the best parent for your baby.

You are capable of amazing things.

You are doing your best.

You are enough.

You are more than enough.

You are powerful and strong.

Your feelings matter.

You are worthy of love and support.

You are safe.

It's okay to not love every moment.

Love who you are and love who you are becoming.

Breathe in hope,

Exhale fear.

I hope that one of these affirmations gives you the strength that you need and that you will carry the words with you.

You are capable of going through hard things,

Surviving,

Persisting,

And emerging stronger and more resilient because of them.

Being a parent is hard.

It's also amazing when you think about it.

You're helping a little being survive.

More than that,

You're helping them grow,

Learn,

Be,

And live in the world in ways that only you can.

You are their everything,

From before they even know it to the times when no one else might see it.

Seeing the beauty,

The amazing,

The immense responsibility,

And the immense miracle of it makes the million hard things just drops in the bucket of what you're actually doing here.

You are doing amazing work.
