Many people think of non-violence as a state of passiveness,
But it is actually a state of power.
To become a force of non-violence in my community,
The very first thing I need to do is become a force of peace in my own mind.
I center myself right now on the awareness that my original state of being is peace.
And just like the natural world around me is beautiful,
The trees,
The lakes,
The oceans,
In the same way my true nature is beautiful,
I am love and I am peace.
And I take just a few moments to relax into that deep stillness of the soul.
When I connect with this pulse of peace within,
Something powerful can begin to happen.
I begin to plug into inspiration.
Let me ask myself right now,
What moves me to compassion?
What is it that makes me truly merciful?
What cause,
What service opens my heart?
The force of love is far more powerful than the force of anger.
A life of non-violence in the community means that I cultivate peace internally,
But I also ask what can I stand for in the community?
How can I express care?
How can I serve with the power of love?
And when I touch that core of peace inside,
I can become clear about what it is that I feel inspired to do for my community.
Non-violent service means I don't oppose anyone,
I don't get angry with any system or group of people,
I just stand for what I love and focus on how I can give,
Uplift,
Nourish and change the world around me.
When I operate from inner peace and when I express this in my service to my community,
I become a powerful agent of change.
